Full screen view in SMART iQ™ 4 whiteboard
It would be great to find a way to get (temporary) rid of the floating tool bar of the SMART iQ™ 4 whiteboard (i. e. when embedding/playing a full screen video).
A possible solution could be to have a new "full screen view" available in the whiteboard which makes the floating tool bar disappear (temporary). To go back to the "regular view" including the floating tool bar there could be an icon in the upper right corner of the full screen to tap on.
Thanks!
Cheers,
Thomas2 votesThank you for your feedback. We have been considering this issue, and we have a few ideas we're exploring. One is to allow the user to shorten the toolbar to essential buttons only (pen tool, add page, etc.). Another is to allow the toolbar to be collapsed entirely. It would become a button on the side of the screen.
This second option sounds similar to what you're suggesting. It does open the door to other questions, like would you want to use toolbar elements from a collapsed state? Would you want to be able to move the button? And should it be anchored to a side or free-floating?
If you have any additional thoughts you'd like to share, your feedback is appreciated.

Palm Rejection
I remember there used to be a feature called palm rejection. Where someone with a disability could rest their hand on the screen and still be able to write with the pen. And the palm rejection would detect that and reject touch for that.

Login Settings
It would be great to be able to have a setting to set a user to be the default login. When setting up our boards, I made the first account the admin and then created a user to be able to more easily change the user if a teacher would leave or change locations.
However, when they leave for the day and come back, the SMART Board logs into the Admin account by default. Thus creating more steps teachers have to do to log back into their account.

Lock the display from a connected computer
To keep students from watching YouTube, playing games, or writing on the MX display, please give teachers a way to lock the board from a connected computer.

Board sharing (hellosmart.com) upon start up
On iQ3, the whiteboard supported instant sharing using hellosmart.com, but on iQ4, you have to create a Lumio lesson to access the feature. Please consider adding an option to have instantaneous sharing upon opening the whiteboard.
2 votesThank you for your patience, Takeshi. Our next iQ4 release includes Whiteboard/Lumio integration so that you have an experience more consistent with what you had on iQ3. The release after that will also include quick-launch widgets for the home screen, so you can launch a shout-it-out or whole-class whiteboard without first having to open the Whiteboard.

Move menu bar on IQ4
I would like to able to move the bottom menu to the side on the IQ4. I would prefer it to stay there rather than having to swipe up.

iQ 4: Would like to have an option to disable iQ or change which input the display boots to on startup.
The customer explained that they would like to have the option to disable iQ 4 and or have the option in settings to change which input the display boots to on startup. Does not want to allow teachers to have that much access. Submitted on behalf of the customer, case 768082.

SMART Mirror - Option to share specific app/section
Would like to share a specific app or a part of the app for example a tab of Google Chrome instead of the entire screen. So that one can keep confidentiality without sharing the entire screen. Submitted on behalf of the customer, case: 00766895.

App Store
Oh no, the old App Store is gone?!?!? Having Google Play Store is great, but taking away the app store with the orange tile that was in previous iQ versions is horrible. It was really nice to be able to open that up and scroll through available apps. Without it, and only being able to search the Google Play Store, this forces teachers to have to take a bunch of time Googling what apps are out there in the world and then searching for them in iQ. Most teachers are not aware of all of the apps/games and would have…

Group Tagging Behavior in SRM
Group Tagging Behavior in SRM
Tagging Interpretation:
Groups with multiple tags should include any board with any of the tags, but currently only include boards with all tags.Suggestion:
Update the system to allow groups to include boards with any of the assigned tags, not just all.

Export all/multiple drawings as pdf at the same time
This was removed in 3.12, but it was broken/buggy before then. Reinstate multi-export to USB. Currently only supported to export one at a time - not useful with hundreds of drawings!

Show actual ACTIVE pen settings
When you change the pen mode, it sticks to the change (as it should). But if you go back to see which one you have selected at the moment, it shows the default (regular pen thickness, black color), so users think they are stuck with a kind of pen or color they don't want anymore. You have to go change it on both pen style AND color in order to go back to normal or back to where you want.
It would be more straightforward if what you see is what you get. Please check on the attached video for…
