USB token to lock/unlock MX and 7000R series displays It would be great to lock and unlock the whole SMART Board® interactive display screen with a specific token on a USB thumb drive (like locking the settings). In a nutshell, working with a MX or 7000R series display should provide a fast and easy lock and unlock procedure for the whole screen. Just like the 6000S series will provide with the new SMART ID cards (in my case without the logon credentials of the ID cards).

Add capability to connect Bluetooth speakers/headphones Teachers often use their panels for station/center activities. Many times, audio is included in these activities which can be distracting for others at different stations. While utilizing the headphone jack is an option, disconnecting the headphone jack on the back of the panel each time audio needs to be played for the entire class can get cumbersome.
Having the capability to connect Bluetooth headphones would allow students to participate in the station activity while not disturbing others with the audio from the panel.

Board Sharing Code Teachers in our district would currently like to share SMART Notebook presentations from their laptop to other Teachers boards in the school building. As of right now getting the code for their board is somewhat cumbersome. The teachers are logged into the board with their school email, but have to log out of the board to see the code. The code is found by clicking on the icon on the right that looks like a cell phone/tablet. That icon disappears when they log into the board with their email. This typically wouldn't be a problem, but the board code changes/times…
4 votesThanks for the feedback. I understand the frustrations with pairing a board using the board code. We’re currently working on a solution that will greatly simplify this by getting rid of the board code in an upcoming release.
The plan is to SMART Notebook files that are uploaded to suite.smarttech.com to also be accessible from within the board’s Files Library when the teacher logs in to the board with the same account.

Ability to lock or disable video inputs : We would like the ability to disable or force a specific video input.
There is no ability to disable inputs in the configuration of our SPNL-6000 series boards.

Display usage Time in hours/minutes Most commercial Displays and Projectors keep a usage/hour counter. This is vital for asset management and return on investment metrics.
I.e. for establishing how often the screen is actually utilised by end users.

As a modular appliance in the OPS slot, the iQ system doesn’t have integration at the level required to do this type of reporting.
This will be considered on future panels that integrate SMART iQ and the display scaler.

Kapp App/Whiteboard Support-Chromebooks Chromebooks need to be supported by the Kapp app.
Currently the only way for our teachers to initiate a Whiteboard sharing session is by downloading and launching the app on their personal phones. When they download the app on their Chromebooks, it gets stuck on "connecting" after scanning the QR code. Smart support confirmed there is currently no support for Chromebooks/ChromeOS.

We’re working on a better whiteboard experience that can share directly through the cloud without needing another device.

Shout out! app The Shout out! app has such potential! It would be really nice if the teacher can load content on the screen for the students to respond to. For example, imagine for a language class, a stack of flashcards that is pre-edited, and students can use the buzzer to verbally respond to it, or type the response. Please add the function to load content onto the screen.

Display Usernames Instead of Unreadable IDs in Device Details Currently, when viewing device details in SMART Remote Management (SRM), the signed-in users appear as long, unreadable alphanumeric IDs rather than clear, recognizable usernames. This makes it difficult to quickly identify who is logged into a device.
Proposed Improvement:
Display meaningful usernames or email addresses instead of cryptic user IDs.

Managing pin for settings from adminportal The settings on our boards are secured with a PIN code. If this PIN code is leaked, we currently have to manually update the PIN on each board, which is not practical with more than 40 boards. Could this be implemented in the admin portal so that it can be managed centrally?

Simple line, arrow & shape drawing tool for IQ Whiteboard on MX I really need some basic drawing tools in the native IQ Whiteboard without having to connect to a PC to use Smart Notebook. The simplest of drawing tools like arrows, lines and basic shapes would be ideal. Today I wanted to split my MX screen to show 2 ways to complete a maths problem. I’d love to be able to choose draw - line - and using the pen, draw a simple straight line. I don’t want to have to keep a PC beside the board to mirror to it as I use my PC less and less these days.…
3 votesThe iQ4 update released today (December 11, 2024) includes a shape tool and text creator tool. We will be adding lines/arrows in the new year. We will also be updating shapes and text to include more formatting options.
If your school is not yet using iQ4, talk to your IT Admin on what possibilities are available to upgrade.

The capability to move the Smart Mirror Toolbar When sharing a screen in Smart mirror the toolbar on the top middle of the screen is not adjustable to move. Would like to be able to drag and adjust when needed like the toolbar in whiteboard. I might need it at the bottom of the screen or in the corner so I can show the students the content at the top without having the toolbar block it.

Reports For a School District with many smartboards to manage, there are some tools in the form of Reports that would be very useful in order to keep track of incidents on smartboards.
The report I have been needing lately is regarding Reboots, we have many users not reporting issues all the time, but we noticed they continuosly restart their smartboards and we want to know why.So on my dream report I would see:
-Reboot history (numbers)
-Time of the day reboots are happening
-Origin (spontaneous, remote, via front button, rocker button, etc)

SMART screen share app - update to work with MacOS14 SMART Screen share no longer works once a user has updated to MacOS14. When you have boards mounted to the wall, connecting the laptop using wires is a step backward and also a safely hazard. Our teachers need the ability use touchback which makes your suggestion of using airplay or googlecast worthless since they do not allow touchback. Holding back updating to the latest OS on our laptops is not possible. Consider updating the SMART screen share app, OR making SMART mirror functional on the 6000 series boards.

Every time there is an update I have to reload all of my chromium tabs and passwords for those websites. Please make it like the chrome desktop setting where there is an option to "open specific pages (tabs) on startup". Thanks!
3 votesHello! It looks like others using Chromium and Google Chrome on Android are experiencing the same frustration. Google is currently working on this but no release date yet. I expect to see this in a future version of Chrome/Chromium.
