Auto Lock after period of inactivity
Smart Boards do not Auto lock after inactivity. This means that anybody can walk up to the Smartboard and access a users data at any time a user does not remember to lock their board manually. Files can be uploaded to the user's cloud storage, etc.

Remove lock pin
Please give us a way to remove lock pins. It's easy enough to create and change the lock pin, but there's no way to remove it. Now that I've been able to set up my Smart card, I don't need a lock pin. I'd like to remove the pin from my board and there's currently no way to do so.

Touch Screen Sensitivity
I've had several customers comment on how they would like to be able to adjust the touch screen sensitivity. The main reason would be to decrease the sensitivity to avoid false triggers.

Adjust time required to freeze board
Could you add the ability to adjust the time it takes to freeze the board by holding down the menu button on the GX series? Currently you have to hold it for 5 seconds and there no way to change this, it's a surprisingly long time when stood in front of a class and just generally quite annoying.

Let the MX275-V2 run the SmartMirror app for screen projectio
We are a campus of 24 plus SMARTTechnologies SBID-MX275-V2. The last order arrive and were the SMARTTechnologies SBID-MX275-V3.
PROBLEM: the V3 runs Smartmirror NOT SmartScreen.
PLEASE PLEASE get SmartMirror to run on the V2This is a massive training issue if the V2 and V3 run two different Window screen sharing software...
I'm really questioning if we should have stuck with SmartTech - I know that the next time we are doing a campus upgrade.. other devices will be considered

Changing the SMART Board pen default settings with SMART product drivers
Why is there no option to change the SMART Board pen default settings with SMART product drivers (like in the previous SPNL-6000 series)? So you can't set a default ink thickness for the pens which is highly missed. Every time people are using the pens on a SBID-6000S they have to adjust the ink thickness again and again. This is very confusing and inconvenient for the customers who are preferring a thinner ink as a default. Also it would be a good idea to be able to set the calligraphic ink as a default, too. Be able to tailor settings that are locked down using USB key.
It would be great if IT admins can specify which settings are locked with the USB key. For example, students in our school have found the brightness and contrast sliders in settings, and when both are turned all the way down it's pretty much a black screen. It's a lot of trial-and-error prodding to hit the right spot and get the sliders back up. It's such a massive waste of time when this is happening several times a day in multiple rooms across multiple sites.
An alternative to a tailored settings key would be to have one that locks out…

iQ selection using RS232 or IP control

Support for SMART ID card sign-in with an AM60 inside a SBID-6000S/-V3
Hi SMART,
It would be great if the SMART AM60 appliance would also support the SMART ID card sign-in within the SMART Board 6000S/-V3 series. There are existing customers who got the AM60 as a hardware upgrade and want to stick to the used SMART ID card sign-in process and not switch to the QR code sign-in process.Thanks!

Whiteboard Background Templates
The built in Whiteboard application on V4 is missing a key set of educational templates, specifically the sports layout (e.g., fields, courts) and music sheets that were available in the background options on our V2 and V3 models.

In the meantime, you can create custom backgrounds by uploading your own images. To do this, select Background from the lower toolbar and scroll down to the Custom section.

Ability to change the minimum HDMI standard remotely on HDMI inputs on MX boards.
Currently having to manually change the HDMI standard to 1.4 on each board across our estate (700 boards have been installed so far with another 500 + to go) following new installations due to issues with cabling. Laptops are unable to duplicate or extend their displays to the panels until this is done.
Ideally we could do this remotely going forward & undo the change once the cabling has been replaced by AV contractors.

Currently our teachers can lock down a smart board with a pin or pattern. That becomes a problem when I as a tech need to go look at a board and the teacher is nowhere to be found to unlock the board.
There should be a way to unlock the board from the portal or allow someone to log out the person that is currently logged in so that they can log in behind them.
Allowing anyone to log someone out (much like on a PC) would also fix the issue that occurs when a substitute comes in but the…

Default input source selection and Auto Switching on MX V5
Hi. I would suggest having default input source selection (Example HDMI 1) when display is powered on the MX series V5.
Also noticed that when no input source is available, the display goes to Android screen (Home screen).
It would be better to have a priority input feature, such in case there is an HDMI source connected the display switches to connected HDMI port from Android back.
We have more than 60 displays installed, and it becomes tedious for the users having to switch sources.3 votes -

Max volume limit
Max volume limit for the Smart board please. Perhaps an accessibility setting on the board. We have certain students that get music as reward/leisure and they try to turn the volume all the way up. When the sound then gets turned down to an acceptable level it can result in disruptive negative behaviors. Having these boards in a special needs environment makes this an essential feature. EAP-TLS
While SmartBoard do support the installation of TLS certificates for use with cloud-based filtering and 802.1X EAP protocols for wireless authentication, They do not support 802.1X EAP-TLS for certificate-based authentication and it is not possible generating a CSR from the SMART Display required for 802.1X EAP-TLS certificate-based authentication.
This is highly desirable from a security point of view

Disabling ethernet ports of SMART displays & Support for LLDP
It should be possible to turn off the two RJ45 ports of the SMART displays. Some customers have a specific device "logic" in their network, based on the MAC address of the network card. Every device with a specific MAC address will get specific policies. When you have a scenario with a SMART display including an OPS PC PCM11 we have a total of 3 MAC addresses, depending on where you plug-in the ethernet cable. Please update MX086-V2 drivers to fix issue with On-Screen keyboard and Windows
We have an Smart Board MX086-V2 and at some time the on-screen keyboard started to not pop-up when the signal from our PC with Windows 10 is shown in the board. The on-screen keyboard works well with the board menus (settings and so on) and even when Windows is configured in tablet mode. But with normal mode of Windows we are forced to use the Windows virtual keyboard. SmartTech support says it is a bug in the latest V2 drivers (we have an MX086-V4 working well).
