1. text to speech for sound option

   Can you please add a text-to-speech "sound" option instead of just voice recording or a downloaded sound? Our teachers do not all have microphones with their computers. Other similar products have text to speech playback. For instance, if putting a child's name on a button in an daily attendance activity it could read the label "student A" when touched instead of having the teacher physically record "student A". This would save a lot of time compared to similar products.

2. Remove Students

   Remove inappropriate student names from online activities and lab activities. When students use fake names to logon to activities can we please kick them out straight away, rather than remove all students.

9. SMART lab

   I like the new SMART lab activities with the different templates but hope that there will be added further templates where you can choose your own picture as a background. The pictures of current templates are especially for primary students so I hope you will add also templates for secondary students. I appreciate that you can create categories for Shout it out. But it is possible to add texts and photos at the same time to a Shout it out session?

10. SMART Response

    I am getting a lot of flak on the deprecation of Response (clickers) from teachers in my district. I want some features added to the new response 2.0 to help alleviate the transition. This is hopefully a springboard response to help make it better.

14. A link to helpful videos in the Gallery Tab or under the Help Topic in Menu

    Since there are so many SEEs creating videos about using SMART NB as well as troubleshooting in SMART NB, I think it would be a great idea to add some kind of link to these video in the Gallery Tab. Many educators who use SMART NB and SMART Boards (as well as other SMART Technologies products) every day have no idea that these videos even exist. Perhaps a link to troubleshooting and/or other helpful videos could be added to the Gallery Tab or in the Help Section of the Menu?

15. Bring back CTRL-drag to duplicate items

    For most of the almost-two-decades that I've used Notebook (prior to Notebook 23) I could always press CTRL and then click/drag an object on a PC, leaving the original in place but also dragging a duplicate to the new cursor location.

    This is a practically universal behavior across all software I use that deal with graphics or even text objects.

    I assume CMD-click/drag on a Mac achieved the same.
    This inexplicably no longer works. Please bring it back!

    This post echoes another post I made three years and several Notebook releases ago. It got a decent number of votes and I would assume is not hard to implement, yet it's gotten no response or action taken, and seems to have fallen far down the list on this page.

17. Pen Thickness for RX Boards

    Please allow to set default pen thickness for RX boards, just like the old boards through Smart Settings . It is incredibly frustrating to have to manually change pen thickness each time you use a pen. I'd be curious as to why this feature was not continued on the RX boards.

18. it would be EXTREMELY nice if smartnotebook 24 could still play nice with mathtype like v22 did.

    In Notebook 22.0, I used to be able to drag and drop math expressions from Math Type. I'm not sure why this doesn't work anymore with version 24. I would pay money for this functionality to return if possible, as the built in equation editor is just not as robust as the one in mathtype software.

19. Zoom Feature on a File Page

    The zoom feature in SMART Notebook is currently quite unintuitive and difficult to use in the classroom.

    Default Zoom Level: The default zoom setting is at 230%, which is intended to fill a SMART Board screen. However, this level limits the zoom range, as the maximum zoom is only 300%, meaning you can only magnify content an additional 30%. This limited zoom range doesn’t offer the flexibility needed in a classroom setting, where a larger range would be more helpful. For comparison, a useful magnification tool would allow zooming in and out with larger, practical increments—similar to how a microscope goes from 4x to 10x to 40x to 100x.

    Zooming Out Issues: Zooming out to lower percentages, such as 50%, surrounds the content with a large gray canvas. However, this extra space is unusable, as notes or annotations cannot be made on the gray area. This could be a useful workspace if writing or taking notes on the surrounding canvas were possible, so perhaps consider enabling note-taking in this area.

    Touch Sensitivity Problems: In the latest version, SMART Notebook 24, the zoom feature is highly touch-sensitive, which often results in accidental zooming during class. This is a frequent disruption, as students unintentionally adjust the zoom level while interacting with the board.

    Suggestions for Improvement:

    Expand the zoom range to offer a more useful range of zoom levels (e.g., 50%, 100%, 200%, 300%, and up).
    Allow writing or annotations on the gray background when zoomed out to provide additional workspace.
    Reduce the sensitivity of touch controls for zooming, or allow an option to lock the zoom level to prevent unintentional changes.
