Lock screen in SMART iQ™
There have been several requests by customers for a lock screen in SMART iQ™ (not the scenario with a computer connected to the SMART Board® interactive display, where you can easily just lock Windows or macOS X).
Both, teachers and business users, need to have a feature where they easily can lock the SMART iQ™ screen with a PIN when they are making a break. Teachers don't want students to play around with SMART iQ™ in a break and business users want to cover secret information that might be visible on SMART iQ™ for others, entering the meeting room…17 votes -
When a teacher enters their account and password in IQ, currently the screen displays the password for a short time before it turns to a dot
When a teacher enters their account and password in IQ, currently the screen displays the password for a short time before it turns to a dot. This could be easily seen by a student who would then have the teacher’s single-sign-on password that could give them access to other systems and documents – a potential security/ privacy issue. The password letters should not be viewable at all.

Native Screen Share form Windows and Android devices.
We would suggest returning the native screen share from Windows devices to iQ (SMART Mirror - V3). It is annoying for occasional / roaming users that they have to download a screen sharing app. Most users share content from Windows devices.

Split screen is available on V3 and V4 displays running iQ 3.12 or newer. You will be able to run multiple apps at the same time.
Unfortunately, Android doesn't allow displaying multiple instances of the same app at the same time. So you can't have 2 browser tabs displayed side by side.
However, you can have the browser and whiteboard side by side at the same time.

Allow app updates from management console to push to all devices at once. (Smart Mirror especially)
We have many smart panels for our school (one in each class!) and we cannot seem to find a way to push app updates from the management console to the panels all at once. We are having to physically go to each smart panel in the entire school to update the Smart mirror app one by one. Very annoying!

Whiteboard backgrounds
I like the grid that shows when the whiteboard is panning. It would be nice to be able to specify a background for the whiteboard, like grids or lines to assist with writing nicely on the board.
6 votescompleted · AdminSMART Technologies Product Management (Product Manager, SMART Technologies) respondedBackground support is part of the iQ 3.2 release.
When you create a new whiteboard page, you can select a background before you write on the screen.
To change the background on an existing page, use the page sorter.

On Screen Code for Screen Sharing
Need an option to require an on screen code to initiate screen sharing. This is crucial to keep secondary students from initiating an unwanted screen share session.
4 votesA new setting has been added in iQ 3.0 to satisfy this need. If you go to Settings → Screen Share and enable “Require Permission” you will be prompted to accept incoming connections from the board before they are allowed to share.
Unlike PIN/password, this option is consistent for AirPlay, Google Cast and Miracast connections.

Notebook Player now has the ability to expand the whiteboard area to a 3×3 whiteboard. This means more space to add content on all sides of the board.
To get the expanded whiteboard, use your finger to pan the canvas all the way to the left or right. You’ll see a radar view showing the expanded area.

New features - add pages
I love the new feature where you can have more than one page by sliding your hand across the kapp screen. The grid is very useful. Is it possible to create the option in order to keep it up there to use for bar graphs or to help writing straight?
3 votesNotebook Player in iQ 3.2 has the ability to expand the whiteboard canvas. You can organize your whiteboard so that each quadrant is a different “page”.
We’ve also added the ability to add lined paper and graph paper backgrounds to the whiteboard. This might be useful for doing graphs.
Take a look at this video for a demo of these new features: https://youtu.be/6uUkkTrYTBU

Hide Onscreen Keyboard
The onscreen keyboard is often in the way, and after moving it to a nice place, it pops back up in the way again. Would like an option to disable, dock, or hide. We use connected wireless keyboards anyway.
2 votesThis is available on SMART Board V3 and V4 displays running iQ 3.14 or newer in Settings> Language> Physical keyboard options> Use on-screen keyboard.

Create and curate an informal list of known working apps and games for the AM40/50 Android modules. Just add a disclaimer.
Create and curate an informal list of known working apps and games for the AM40/50 Android modules. Just add a disclaimer that these are 3rd party apps and are not supported by Smart. Having some idea of apps that have at least worked for others would be very helpful.
2 votesThanks for the suggestion. I’d love to get your ideas here on what apps you would like to see.
iQ 3.5 includes an app store to download and install Android apps to the SMART Board. You can access this by going to the Apps library and then clicking on the New tile.
We’re starting to add more apps. More to come!

Enable pdf export with higher (usable) resolution
Exported whiteboard files via pdf stick are very small in their resulting screen size. This makes most of the notes pretty unusable, as written texts are drastically reduced in size. Starting from a 4K screen it should be no problem to export the file in an adequat resolution.
2 votesThanks for the feedback. Improvements have been made in iQ 3.5 related to PDF export. Your boards should be updating to this version if it is connected to the internet.
