Context:
During a meeting, a usability issue occurred with the Equation Editor, which resonated with multiple individuals in the room (former teachers).Problem:
When creating/editing a lesson, a user clicks on the Equation Editor, but nothing seems to happen (unlike the Add Shape button,
which pops open the 'shape' window). The user is forced to click on the slide (unintuitive) before the 'formula' window opens.
The presentation lost seconds and the attendees were disorientated. This UIUX issue impacts both Smart boards and online versions.Expected result:

Lesson Presentation Same on Panel as in Browser
I'd like to have the same options when presenting on the panel as I do when I run a Lumio lesson on my laptop or in the browser. The three horizontal lines seen in the browser that let me go in and edit the lesson while presenting are not there when I present directly from the panel. Also, I can't see the tools at the top of the page when I'm running a group activity or individual handout on the panel. Since the Monsters are Smart mascots, they should be an option in all the games as a theme.

Auto-fill post-it notes
For the post-it graphic organizer it would be helpful if the post-its would auto-fill and size text into the graphic. It would be easier for younger students who aren't great with re-sizing fonts and moving them.

Ability to reset pacing
Pacing of slides depends are class so once presented I would love an option to reset the lesson so it can be started fresh. As I create my lessons on notebook I currently delete and reload.

Provide an Information Feed
I am an online teacher reading "Building Thinking Classrooms" In a brick and mortar school = teachers provide Vertical Whiteboards that all groups can view. In the online environment I provide my students to the Luminio Board and a Word Document. I currently snap group work pictures and post to the Word - this provides a similar information stream but is clunky. I would love it if the students had a toogle button within their view area to switch to such a stream - this could be done by programming simultaneous post or updates every so many seconds. In this…

Provide an Information Share feature = So groups can see what other groups are doing
I am an online teacher reading "Building Thinking Classrooms" this stresses groups using Vertical Boards that in a Brick and Mortar to that all students can glance at other groups' work. I can do this manually - by copying and pasting the group pages to a word and updating and providing students a link to the Word. However, it would be great if the system provided a button for groups that they click as need and scroll through other groups inputs. This could be done via somesort of simultaneous feed to a share location.

Student access to other groups work & turn on turn off chat space on page.
I am an online teacher but this could also be used for hybrid and in class. I am working with the book "Building Thinking Classrooms" wherein, students work on vertical boards so all groups can see what other groups are doing.
This really does help students to work as they have evidence that other groups are engaged and the teacher can then direct the group to another groups work. This could be done if screens similtaneously had a secondary post ie Word or some other thus students could have an option button on their view to switch to this overview…1 vote -

The search feature isn't very good. I narrow the search by filtering what I want and it pulls up other things. The content needs to be sorted more easily.

Enter a reason for banning a student
I would like to be able to type a reason into why a student has been kicked from my Lumio as a student currently has the username of Vladamir Putin which is inappropriate for the classroom.

View student typing in real-time
It would be nice to see what students are typing in real-time, rather than waiting for them to click away from the text box for their work to show up. Similar to Google, having letter-by-letter tracking can be helpful

Disabling the back and forward functions when doing a word sort activity
I have recently encountered kicking my students out when doing the word sort activity, but I am not using a smart board 6000 so this may be the issue.

Individual Handout Activities unreliable on some networks
We have noticed during remote learning that depending on the students' wifi, some have issues participating in the Individual Handout Activities, as they get an "Oops, something went wrong" error, resulting in a lot of frustration and teachers abandoning the tool.
This does not seem to be an issue when teachers are using in a face-to-face classroom where our schools infrastructure can support the students on these activities.
We suspect that the individual handout activities may require more bandwidth which is causing the crash - it would be helpful for our students learning remotely if this could be investigated further.
