Inserting guided questions throughout videos
Teachers need to be able to insert guided questions at stopping points throughout ready-made videos or those they have created on their own. EdPuzzle and Nearpod both allow this and it's a game-changer for blended learning. Also, check out the Modern Classrooms Project.org to see how these videos allow teachers to assist other students while the majority are using self-paced videos. If I were to ever go back into the classroom, I would teach that way!

Drag and drop images
Right now we have to search our computers for the images we need, but being able to drag and drop an image directly into a slide is a basic feature that would be really helpful. Can we get this?
63 votesunder review · AdminSMART Technologies Product Management (Product Manager, SMART Technologies) respondedThanks for your feedback. We have added keyboard shortcuts to copy and paste images from any web page or application. We will consider adding drag and drop as an additional method to add images as well.

Screen cover
When I used SmartNotebook, I could put a screen cover into my slides so that I revealed more information as we worked through the slide as a class. When I upload my files to Lumio, that screen cover is removed and I don't see an option to add it back in.
62 votesunder review · AdminSMART Technologies Product Management (Product Manager, SMART Technologies) respondedThanks for your feedback. We will look at how screen shade can be applied to instruction in Lumio. As a workaround for slowly revealing content, a foreground shape can be used as a manual screen shade for now.

YouTube Viewing Options for Teacher-Paced Lessons
Currently when presenting a teacher-paced lesson, students are able to start an embedded YouTube video instantly on their devices. There is no way for the teacher to control when students are able to start the video which often causes a lot of disruption within the class. Sometimes teachers want to play a YouTube video for the whole class to view together. It would be extremely helpful if teachers could play a YouTube video where students see the video in sync on their devices - OR - where the teacher could at least be able to click the option for students…
60 votesunder review · AdminSMART Technologies Product Management (Product Manager, SMART Technologies) respondedThank you for the great suggestion. We will explore how to provide better control of YouTube video playback in teacher-paced settings.

reset button... its frustrating not to have one.. i need it to use for multiple problems and classes
49 votesunder review · AdminSMART Technologies Product Management (Product Manager, SMART Technologies) respondedThanks for your feedback. We are looking at ways to improve workflows for teachers who teach multiple groups of students. As a workaround for now, you can create a duplicate copy of your lesson to use with each group of students. Newly created lesson copies do not include any student data.

Magic Pen
I would LOVE to see the Magic Pen on Whiteboard. More and more teachers are signing into the board and delivering their lessons through Whiteboard/Lumio but they miss Magic Pen. How great would it be to have the benefits of Magic Pen? Disappearing Ink, Spotlight, and Zoom!
46 votesunder review · AdminSMART Technologies Product Management (Product Manager, SMART Technologies) respondedThanks for your feedback. We are interested in supporting the benefits of Magic Pen. How would you expect this tool to work on student devices when the teacher uses it on the board?

Keep Groupings in Lumio Lessons
When you are adding a group activity to a Lumio lesson, it creates groups. If you create another group activity later on in the lesson, it does not save the groups from earlier in the lesson. It would be great to have a choice--keep same groups from before or create new groupings!
44 votesunder review · AdminSMART Technologies Product Management (Product Manager, SMART Technologies) respondedThanks for your feedback. We will explore how to make it easier to reuse existing groups or create groups ahead of time.

Students have access to create their own resources in Lumio.
We would love for students to be able to create their own study games using the Lumio tools!!!

Restrict students from changing their names in Lumio.
Allow teachers to restrict students from changing their names when logging into Lumio.
Ex: Students continue to change their names to something inappropriate and then respond with inappropriate messages in Lumio activities. Teachers then have difficulty tracing which student this is tied to so it would be helpful for teachers to restrict students from changing their names.42 votesunder review · AdminSMART Technologies Product Management (Product Manager, SMART Technologies) respondedThank you for making us aware of this issue. We are looking at ways to help teachers better identify signed in students and hold them accountable.

Leaving teacher feedback on Individual Handouts and Group Activities
Right now, if a teacher wants to leave feedback on a student handout, they can write anywhere on the slide. The student can move or delete the feedback, so when the teacher comes back to the slide they don't remember what feedback they left, if the feedback was addressed, or if the student just deleted it without reading it. To keep student work from getting too crowded with feedback and responses, is there a way to leave the feedback off to the side and allow students to indicate that they saw the feedback?

Allow Immersive Reader language to be set for multiple pages
Currently Immersive Reader is reset for every single page. It would be nice to change the language or other settings just once, then have it applied to every single page in the Lumio lesson after that. That way the kids don't have to set it for every single page and waste valuable instruction time.
41 votesunder review · AdminSMART Technologies Product Management (Product Manager, SMART Technologies) respondedThanks for your feedback. We'll investigate how Immersive Reader settings can be persisted.

Handout Folder with all student handouts
Is it possible to have a Handout Folder in Lumio of all the students' work not just in the individual lessons themselves?

Ability to crop photos in Lumio.
It would be helpful if I could crop photos or add transparency to backgrounds, instead of having to edit from Notebook and uploading.

Do not eliminate wrong answers on Monster quiz. I have students that click through answers quickly to finish first.
I want students to take their time and actually work out math problems. They will click through answers because if they get it wrong it will just go away and they will eventually get it right by simply clicking through and guessing enough.
36 votesThanks for the suggestion. We will consider this as an option to customize the quiz. In our initial test play, the game could end up taking a very long time without removing the already selected options, and we saw some teams become bored as they were waiting for others to finish.

Lumio files
Hi.
I really want to be able to open two or more Lumiofiles at the same time. And if I open a Lumiofile in my classroom in the morning, I wish I could open an other one in my office at the same time.
It`s not possible to do this even if I use different browser og Inprivate
Best regards Kristin Skage

Open more than one doc at a time
It would be helpful to be able to have more than one Lumio doc open at a time. With Smart Notebook I could get ready for the whole day in the morning. That's not possible with Lumio because only one doc at a time can be open.

Randomize questions
I would like to have an assessment that draws questions randomly from a "bank" so no two students will have the same questions (not just randomize order)
31 votesThanks for your suggestion. Do you have an existing question bank you would like us to pull from?

pdf
I know that we are now able to download the actual Lumio deck as a PDF file, however I'd like to be able to download completed student work as a PDF. My students do AMAZING work and I would like to be able to print it to share with parents, or hang in my classroom for displays. I currently have to take single screenshots of student work. It would be helpful if there were a way to download the work as a PDF for easy printing.
26 votesunder review · AdminSMART Technologies Product Management (Product Manager, SMART Technologies) respondedThanks for the feedback. We are exploring providing a more detailed lesson report that includes an export of all student work from activities.
In the meantime, an alternative to taking a screenshot is to open the student work and print the page or save the printed page as a PDF.
