1. The option to hide and show SMART Floating Tools is grayed out in the SMART system menu.

3. New LAB

   I like the concept of the new Lesson Activity Builder, and how easy it is to create an activity. More templates for various subject AND higher grade levels (that aren't so "cute-sy") would be GREAT!!

4. There is not activities to use the sounds (only text and images)

   There is not activities to use the sounds

   In the elementary school is very important the use of the sounds: to know the animals, the instruments, the transports...
   There is activities like a "category sort image/text" or "Image or Keyword match" but there is not the activities I´ve described before.

5. Is it possible that the Print Capture will work with Mac OS for this version?

   I know I cannot use it with Mac OS in NB 11.4, but it would be great if it could be set to work in NB 14.

6. Exporting Issue

   When exporting in the new version as a .pdf the controls on page orientation, which pages, full size etc are non existent. Please fix this!

7. Prioritizing Stability Over Flash: A Math Teacher’s Plea for Functional Updates

   To a SMART Board Representative, I have been using SMART Boards and SMART Notebook software for nearly 20 years. I began using your technology when few educators were willing to adopt it, and I have taught professional development sessions focused on using the software to improve classroom pedagogy. I have also attended seminars related to your products and shared suggestions for software improvement over the years. Because of this long history, I feel compelled to express my disappointment that many critical issues affecting daily classroom use, particularly for teachers remain unaddressed. I have met with representatives who, while well intentioned, do not appear to use the software daily for every lesson and therefore struggle to fully understand the practical needs of teachers. While features such as 4K resolution and transparency are visually appealing, they do not significantly enhance daily instruction. What would truly benefit educators, especially math teachers are meaningful improvements such as: -->A stronger equation editor or MathType integration -->A reliable timer that does not crash lessons -->Greater flexibility and control over toolbar shortcuts Each time a software update is released, I am hopeful that it will address these needs. Unfortunately, after investing time installing updates, I consistently find that little has changed in ways that meaningfully support classroom instruction. This ongoing pattern is frustrating and discouraging. I have spoken with many educators who now prefer using a docking station connected to the SMART Board rather than relying on SMART Notebook software at all. I have personally contacted SMART support numerous times when lessons have crashed or become corrupted. While responses are usually polite, they rarely address the underlying stability issues, and lost lessons are not recoverable. Given that my computer can handle CAD software, simulations, 3D printing, and coding simultaneously, there is no reasonable explanation for persistent instability in this software. I have tried to encourage colleagues to continue using SMART Notebook, but many are hesitant because the software does not perform as reliably or seamlessly as advertised. After all these years, it should integrate smoothly with other programs. For example, dragging and dropping images into lessons was once seamless, yet now often requires taking screenshots and manually importing images. I am sharing this feedback not simply to express frustration, but in the hope that it will be seriously considered in future updates—especially for schools that continue to pay for SMART software licenses. 8. Fix pdf exporting issues

   The latest version of Notebook (ie 25.0.1390.1) when exporting a pdf does not allow you to control as in previous versions the pages size etc. This is so frustrating. Please fix urgently.

9. The undo algorithm is inconsistent

   In SMART Notebook 23.2, the algorithm for undo when inking seems to be counter-intuitive. Sometimes, it just undoes the most recently inked thing, which is what I would expect. Other times, it undoes the last 2 minutes worth of writing. Oddly, if I erase some ink and then click undo, it does NOT undo the erasure, but rather undoes the ink that was written earlier and leaves the partially erased ink there. Can your developers please debug/refine the undo algorithm in SMART Notebook?

10. Provide an ETA for all future updates

    In smart, theres an issue which requires the next update to be released (smart files opening chrome), I just want to give my colleages some ressurance, i'm constantly asked when the next update is, and i can't give them an answer. is there any way of giving us an approximation of when the next update will be? even if it's a month or so away.

11. Pen Thickness for RX Boards

    Please allow to set default pen thickness for RX boards, just like the old boards through Smart Settings . It is incredibly frustrating to have to manually change pen thickness each time you use a pen. I'd be curious as to why this feature was not continued on the RX boards.

12. Editable Full Screen Toolbar

    I’d like to suggest an improvement to the full screen toolbar in Smart Notebook. It would be very useful if the toolbar were customizable. For example, I could add my favorite type of pen, frequently used shapes, or other tools I need for a specific lesson.

    This would save time during instruction and make the full screen mode more efficient and tailored to each teacher’s needs.

13. Comfort functions

    There are some very basic features missing in this software, that almost every other software (text, graphics, etc.) provides from the start.

    • I want to be able to zoom in and out with two fingers on the touchpad.
    • I want to be able to scroll not only up and down, but also left and right with two fingers.
    • I want to be able to align previously created objects to a grid so that all objects are aligned neatly - where is the benefit of using digital boards, when everything still looks as shaky as before?
    • I want to select multiple cells in spreadsheets at once to adjust font size or similar.
    • I want to be able to add a border to text fields without having to draw a separate rectangle over the text.
    • I want to be able to drag lines from one object to another and anchor them there. Then I can move the object, and the arrow stays attached to the object.
    • Why is the border of the textbox always far right, so that I cannot grab it and resize the textbox? I have to choose the select-tool, drag the box to the left, then select the text-tool and resize the box. That's very inconvenient.
    • When I'm exporting a file to PDF it always gives me the last path, I saved a file to, but not the actual path of the file I'm working with right now. It's much more useful to export to the location of the original than to the location of some totally different notebook-file.
    • the gallery in the side menu is practically not usable, since I cannot find any useful items there because of the way, it is sorted and tagged. Try to find a table with 5 columns.

    Es sollte wieder möglich sein, dass man in einer erzeugten Tabelle die einzelnen Spalten automatisch auf die gleiche Breite bringen kann (über den Reiter "Größe einstellen" bei Rechtsklick auf die Tabelle), so wie es in Version 22 möglich war.

15. Translate feature within Smart Notebook

    I teach in both French and English, and would absolutely love to be able to translate directly in Smart Notebook. Ideally, it would be possible to translate the whole file, but even one page or text selection at a time would save me a lot of work!

    I have Notebook 25 and every time I try to import a ppt or pdf file to Notebook, i get an error message saying my file is corrupted. Please patch this problem.

17. Notebook gallery

    There are plenty of very old images in the image gallery in Notebook. I think It's time to delete them, as the software is excellent but feels quite old-fashioned when it comes to visuals. See examples of images when you search for computers.

18. math tools

    Please include the math tools in newer versions. I don't understand why they are no longer included. The last version with math tools was 22. These tools are why I continue to use this software. It is frustrating/time consuming to have to open everything first in the new version and then using VIEW in open in the older version (with the math tools).
