  1. Synch 2 teacher devices so the lesson can be displayed in teacher mode on 1 device, and student feedback can be reviewed on another.

As a board facilitator on lumio, I've seen training where a teacher laptop and a smart panel are synched and the teacher has the lesson open in teacher mode on bode devices.

There should be a feature for teachers without smart panels to do this so that a live lesson can be displayed on screen for students (e.g. individual and group handouts, student paced games) and the teacher can still update and check student data in…

Thank you for sharing your idea! The "lock mode" feature in Google Forms is a special tool designed specifically for Google Workspace for Education and managed Chromebooks. It works because Google Forms is deeply integrated with the Chromebook management system, allowing it to restrict students from accessing other websites or apps during an activity.

Currently, this type of functionality isn’t something external websites like Lumio can achieve because it relies on direct integration with ChromeOS's administrative tools. While it’s not possible at this time, we will continue to monitor changes in technology that might make similar features more accessible in the future. We appreciate your feedback!

  3. While students are waiting for me to begin a lesson in Lumio, I would like to ability to disable the new "bee" game where students beat on their spacebars and yell at each other across the room. This should be an option for educators under their class settings.

  4. It would be great if students could use a translation tool to translate audio added to Lumio slides.

  6. Allow Videos to be embedded directly in Lumio (like they are in the SMART Notebook). If I am tweaking a slideshow imported from SMART notebook, I want to be able to switch out a video and have it be directly in the slides without having to change it in Smart Notebook, and import all of the slides again.

  7. Please add the ability for students to NOT be able to edit other students' responses on whiteboard! Make it a choice to a) all edit (all can mess around), b) only submit but NOT edit (the students can participate in the activity but NOT mess with the other students' responses), c) select a random/specific student to respond (check boxes to select/deselect).

  8. Currently, audio added to Lumio files can only be accessed on student devices. I would like students to be able to use my Smartboard in class to click on the audio files and hear them.

  10. Currently, Lumio defaults to Teacher Pacing. Most of the time I want students to be able to access my Lumio files at their own pace. So I have to change to Student Pacing. And that doesn't seem to stick! Being able to chose which I want to default to would be great and save me (and my students) a great deal of pain. (This seems to be the case even with the student links, which is how my students access the pages.)

  11. I would love to have a section specifically for the teacher's use, where they can make notes and comments that may be needed during the lesson or activity they are conducting. For example, in Keynote, there is a comment section where you can input comments that are not visible to the audience you are presenting to.

  12. Allow educators to edit student's name during lessons: I am a virtual special education teacher, and often my students sign in but don't know how to change or edit their login name so it ends up staying our course code (which is confusing as I have multiple students who do not know how to change it to their name so it takes a while to figure out who is who) so it would helpful if I could write in their name instead of the course code during a lesson to better identify which students are participating.

  14. Add or allow educators to download copies of student's work/pages during or afer the lesson, either as a JPG or PDF, instead of the only current option of taking a screenshot of the student work sample mid-lesson. If there was some way to download student work samples during or after lessons this would be so helpful as sometimes student responses are erased by students accidentally or not there when I return to the lesson.

  15. A couple of the useful functions in Notebook that are missing in Lumio would be the ability to rename pages so that they are easy to identify when presenting or editing a lesson. And the ability to link an object to a page (and not just a URL) in the same activity would be helpful as well.

  16. Could we have a disappear/fade feature for shapes and images? It was an option when I was working with SMART notebook. This allowed my lessons to be more interactive. It allowed me to hide content before I was ready to display it for students while teaching through the same slide.

  18. Hi! I would love it if Immersive Reader worked with the MathType text added to a page. For example, if I typed "1/2", it would be great if it read "one half" and the other special functions/characters.

  20. Right now, if a teacher wants to leave feedback on a student handout, they can write anywhere on the slide. The student can move or delete the feedback, so when the teacher comes back to the slide they don't remember what feedback they left, if the feedback was addressed, or if the student just deleted it without reading it. To keep student work from getting too crowded with feedback and responses, is there a way to leave the feedback off to the side and allow students to indicate that they saw the feedback?
