Pop out window for audio recorder for students--don't block the whole window Allow students to view the lumio while recording. Right now the the recording window blocks the window and can't move it and see what is behind it.

Thanks for your feedback, Angelica. We have added the ability to minimize the audio recorder. Students can do this by clicking on the minimize icon (a horizontal line) to collapse the recording window to a toolbar.

Offer high school background themes When creating the matching game or sorting, I would like to see a more mature background theme for high school. The themes seem elementary in characters.

We have added several generic themes for the activities. Please take a look. If there are other ideas for engaging themes for high school students, please let us know.

Restrict the pinch to zoom in function so that students with fine motor challenges are able to complete activities without altering it. I would like to restrict the "pinch to zoom-in" function so that students with fine motor challenges do not accidentally zoom-in during a lesson when they are using more than 1 finger to move objects on their screens.

This feature has been added as part of our advanced locking options. On selected item's context menu select "Allow Move" to make things movable but lock the size and orientation.

Can we add additional parameters to an object (e.g., infinite clone and only allow vertical movement)? My students with their gross and fine motor abilities could benefit with some restrictions when manipulating objects so they stay in alignment.

Good news. You now have more options to lock objects to constrain the movement. For example, you can lock an object to only allow vertical movement.

Recently Deleted Files Have a space for recently deleted files to be held or recovered. If I delete a file accidentally, having a space that holds these files for 7-30 days. Allowing easier recovery.

My Library now features a "Trash" folder that will hold on to deleted files for up to 30 days.
(Note: this is currently only for My Library. Organization and Shared Libraries will get a similar feature in the future.)

Restrict students from changing their names in Lumio. Allow teachers to restrict students from changing their names when logging into Lumio.
Ex: Students continue to change their names to something inappropriate and then respond with inappropriate messages in Lumio activities. Teachers then have difficulty tracing which student this is tied to so it would be helpful for teachers to restrict students from changing their names.53 votescompleted ·AdminSMART Technologies Product Management (Product Manager, SMART Technologies) responded
When students are signed in their directory name now appears in parenthesis next to their display name in the class panel if they have set a different display name. You can also disable guest student access from class settings to force students to sign in.

Audio I love that I can add audio instructions to the page but it would be more helpful if I could add audio to multiple places on the page or to the games along with the images or words. This could be so that the student can hear the proper pronunciation of a vocabulary word.

Try out our attach audio feature! It will allow you to record or upload audio and attach it to any annotation on a page. From an annotation's context menu pick "Attach audio" or look for the microphone in the toolbox to add an audio annotation.

Lock feature "allow vertical or horizontal move" as you can in Notebook Being able to change the lock features would allow for interactive options for students to move items and slide things in a uniform manner. This is currently available in Notebook and it would be great to add it into Lumio.

Translation Widget We would love a simple translation widget. We have a non-english speaking preschooler and it would be nice to quickly type in a word or small set of instructions and it audibly translate for him. We currently do this on our phones for him, but it would be nice to keep our phones out of the lessons!

response questions student-paced I would like to be able to have students complete response questions in student-paced mode. Right now this can only be done in teacher-paced mode.
10 votescompleted ·AdminSMART Technologies Product Management (Product Manager, SMART Technologies) responded
I'm pleased to announce that this has gone live in Lumio today.
You will notice a new setting on Response quizzes that will let you toggle between "Independent work" and "Live in-class." Independent work is the default.
When a Response quiz is configured as Independent work, they can be started by students in asynchronous assignments, or during live delivery when you're running in student-paced mode.
When "Live in-class" is configured, the quiz must be started by the teacher in live delivery, the way it used to work. Use this for a proctored quiz experience.

Hispanic Heritage month Template Can you create a set of templates for Hispanic Heritage month? Maybe have pages with background graphics of flags/maps of different Spanish speaking countries. You could also choose some images of historic or tourist landmarks.

Integrate Canva with Lumio Canva has so many editable creative templates and it would be awesome if we had the ability to upload our slides/template directly from Canva to Lumio! Right now I can download it as a PPT, then upload that presentation to Lumio which works, but it is just an extra step that seems like it could be an easy option if it was integrated.

Thanks for your feedback. Good news. We have completed an integration with Canva. Once the app is approved, look for the Lumio app in Canva to publish designs from Canva directly into Lumio.

Copy slides into new separate lessons Be able to copy a page/slide and transfer it to a different lesson. Sometimes I want to take an activity and apply it to a different lesson, sometimes as a recap. I don't want to recreate the page again - I just like to copy it into the new lumio (like you can with a Ppt).

As Michelle pointed out, "Import resource" allows for this. Select "Import" from My Library, and "My Library" as the source. You will be able to select which pages you want to pull into a new file. You can also do this from within a file by selecting "Add page" in the slide sorter. Pages are inserted after the currently selected page.

Merge items in a lumio page In Smart Notebook, there was the ability to take several items pasted onto a page and merge them together to make one item. I would like to see this capability in Lumio as well. Then the entire item size can be adjusted instead of adjusting each individual item.

Thank you for your feedback. We have added the ability to group objects in Lumio. You can select multiple objects by holding down the shift key while dragging to select or clicking on each object you want to select. Then click the object dropdown menu and select "Group".
