Ability to open Google Slides files in Whiteboard app
Open files within the Slides app using the Whiteboard app without having to convert to a PDF.
1 voteThis is not technologically possible. Google Slides must be exported as PDF or PPT. They cannot be inserted directly into Whiteboard or Notebook.

SMART-ify the new iQ 4 system
The new UI feels like a giant Android tablet. Classroom users have commented that they get lost trying to use it. I also have 90% of my fleet on the older model with the original UI so now when someone goes to a new one, they need to be trained on how to use it again. Could you add option to "SMART-ify" the new iQ 4 system so it looks the same as the older models?
4 votesThe new iQ4 experience strikes a balance between compatibility with Android apps and services within the Google Play ecosystem while maintaining ease of access to common functions for a front-of-the-room display. This necessitates the changes that were introduced with this update.
iQ3 displays can upgrade to the iQ4 experience with an optional AM60 appliance upgrade. Additional information here: https://www.smarttech.com/education/products/accessories/smart-computing-modules

Unfortunately, this feature won't be coming to the SMART Board 7000 series displays due to technical limitations. However, your feedback has been incorporated into the 7000's successor, 7000-V2, and all subsequent newer SMART Board models.

Split Screen Option for MX V1 and V2
It would be nice to be able to have the option to use Split Screen as this shows https://support.smarttech.com/docs/software/iq/en/getting-started/split-screen.cshtml . Some of our boards have the V3 and teachers are able to use it while other teachers have the V2 and unable to use it. All of our teachers want to use it. Can there be an update to the software to allow this for previous MX versions?
4 votesSplit screen will not be offered as a feature on MX-V1 and MX-V2 displays due to the hardware and performance limitations of these displays.
These displays can upgrade to the new iQ4 experience with split screen via an AM60 appliance upgrade. Additional information here: https://www.smarttech.com/education/products/accessories/smart-computing-modules

Allow the use of other NFC/RFID cards
It would also make sense to allow NFC/RFID cards from other manufacturers because schools already have their access cards/tags for building access etc. They don't like being forced to carry another card specifically for iQ login. Because of this limitation, customers often don't use Smart login in iQ.

Force Safesearch on iQ Browser app
Please add the option to force 'SafeSearch' and Youtube 'Restricted Mode' on the built in browser app (both can be done by editing the local /etc/hosts file in the Android system)
1 voteUnfortunately, the Android system doesn't allow /etc/hosts to be customized.

Support for Hardware Authentication Keys (MFA)
Currently, hardware authentication tokens/keys aren't supported. We have some users using Titan Security Keys for multi-factor authentication, so it would be helpful to support USB-A/USB-C keys such as these.
1 voteGood idea. Unfortunately, Titan Security Keys are not compatible with the version of Android that is running on any existing SMART Boards. Google has indicated they do not have plans to support this.
We'll reevaluate this with our upcoming generation, V5, SMART Boards.

Mifare card support
Please could you add support for Mifare NFC cards, We already issue staff with a card for building access, printing, etc, so having to issue all staff with a separate SMART branded card is a pain
1 voteUnfortunately, there isn't an industry standard protocol for handling user credentials stored on NFC. Each building access or identity provider has their own closed-source proprietary way of accessing and processing this information.
The display currently supports reading Mifare NFC but the board can't decrypt the user credentials that are stored on it. If your building access provider has an Android app, then it may be possible to read this information.

Browser has full screen feature
The Chromium browser doesn't have a full screen function to make the webpage completely full screen on Smartboard display (hide the side bar and the top bar for url address and tabs). In educational setting, it is very inconvenient because students like to touch different tabs to get out of the instruction page where they are instructed to complete tasks.
1 voteThank you for your feedback.
We have provided this feedback to the Google team at Chromium. Hopefully, they take this into consideration for an upcoming version as more and more IFPs are using their browser.

Release the Smart Screen Share app in a format that can be deployed by IT Admin
Release the Mac version of the Smart Screen Share app as a .PKG file so that IT admins can more easily deploy the app to their users using an MDM. The current .dmg file is fine for the end user but unhelpful for mass deployment. You already do this for the Smart Notebook software for Mac.
5 votesUnfortunately this request will not be fulfilled as SMART Screen Share is now deprecated. However, elligible legacy displays such as the MX-V2, 6000S, 7000R, and 7000-V2 series displays may switch over to SMART Mirror as the screen sharing solution and it has a pkg installer: https://support.smarttech.com/docs/software/smart-mirror/en/home.cshtml

Browser URL bar at the bottom of screen
Is there a way with the MX275 to change and have the URL bar on the bottom of the screen in a users profile and does this change it for everyone who uses that board? Our boards were all installed at a certain height and one of my staff member is on the shorter side. It would help to be able to have the URL bar on the bottom of the panel screen.
5 votesWe have provided this feedback to Google Chrome. There is no timeline for when this will be implemented. We hope this is a feature Google considers for a future Chrome release.

Visualizer app
It would be great if the Visualizer app from IPEVO was allowed in the app store. We don't have remote management software so we can't add the app ourselves to the SMART board app store, but it would be great if that app was available for use since it matches the hardware my district has.
1 voteUnfortunately, IPEVO controls the distribution rights of their app.
Perhaps your IPEVO support contact will be able to share a copy of this app with you as an Android APK file that may be installed on other Android devices such as the SMART Board.

android v12
Unable to use MS Teams on the board due to company policy of needing a more recent copy of android OS
3 votesYou may upgrade your SMART Board with an AM60 OPS appliance. This is a fully Google EDLA-certified Android 13 solution enabling the latest features in iQ4 and Google Play Services. This device will allow you to run apps found on the Google Play Store, including Microsoft Teams.

Group Bookmarks
I manage 200 SMART panels and 500 tablets. It would be awesome to be able to push web bookmarks to the Favorites, based on Tags or something like that.
8 votesAlthough SMART iQ doesn't provide built-in tools for sharing Google Chrome bookmarks, Google's Chrome Enterprise tools within the Google Admin console may satisfy your needs here: https://support.google.com/chrome/a/answer/10265060

graphing calculator app similar to TI-84 apps that show the entire calculator with buttons
Would like a graphing calculator app similar to TI-84 apps that show the entire calculator with buttons, for teaching students how to use the calculator.
8 votesAlthough SMART doesn't include a TI-84 compatible calculator and cannot recommend a specific solution, there are numerous apps that are available on the Google Play store that may satisfy your needs: https://play.google.com/store/search?q=ti-84&c=apps.
Texas Instruments also offer multiple product solutions, such as the one below, for educators that may be appropriate for your needs: https://education.ti.com/en/products/online-calculators/ti-84ce-online-calc

Youtube full screen option not available from Chrome browser
Youtube full screen option not available from Chrome browser if the The version of the browser is 81.0.4044.96 and Operating system is Android 8.0.0 SmartBuild 3.6.9040
13 votesUnfortunately, this is not possible. The engineering team has explored this issue and discovered that there is a hardware limitation that prevents the browser from displaying videos in full screen.

Give the iQ software a full web browser (like Chrome or Firefox) so that interactive web sites like "Canvas" will work without errors
Place a full web browser on the system (such as Chrome or Firefox) so that Teachers can use Canvas and other interactive websites without errors or compatibility issues right from the board. This would make the learning experiance in our classrooms seamless and take less time from the teachers. instead of forcing them to setup a laptop/desktop to do simple web based things.
7 votesUnfortunately, SMART cannot recommend an alternative browser for older displays running SMART iQ3 as the hardware does not meet the system requirements for these browsers. You may try installing an alternative browser from the App Store at your own risk for your own evaluation purposes.
The SMART Boards with iQ4 include an officially licensed version of Google Chrome out of the box. For older legacy displays running iQ3, there is an optional hardware upgrade via an AM60 OPS appliance that will bring all of the capabilities and features of iQ4 and the Google Play ecosystem. moving the address bar to the bottom of the screen
Moving the address bar to the bottom of the screen for easy access
Smart Board is really big an thus it is so hard to reach to the top of the screen to use the board unless you are 6 feet tall. In my profession, rarely people are that tall. So, please provide the option of moving the address bar to the bottom of the screen so that we do not need to pull a muscle while teaching and trying to use the smart tv.
3 votesThank you for your feedback. We have passed this along to Google in hopes that they will consider this in a future version of the Chrome and Chromium browser.

RSS Feed
Wonder about a possibility to have updates related to the IQ Software. Published on a RSS feed.
Would that be possible?

Display 2 Chrome windows at the same time
It would be great to be able to display 2 chrome windows at the same time. You can have timer or directions on one and another for the activity.
2 votesUnfortunately, this is not possible due to a limitation of the Android operating system where only one instance of an app's window may be displayed at a time.
