View pdf dowloaded from browser or view pdf in browser
We are missing an important feature for showing pdf's to our clients.
The board is used to show our site and webshop - with links to pdf's.
If we click on these pdf's we see 'downloading is not supported'.
We don't want to download the file, we want to view the file...I know you can insert a usb and view pdf's, but is very time consuming. The same with connecting a pc to it.
Thanks!
2 votesiQ 3.5 can now download and open PDFs from the Browser. Your boards should be updating to this version if it’s already connected to the internet.

Security for iQ
It would be great to add security features to the iQ module and the ability to lock down the settings tab so students/teachers cannot access and change settings.
2 votesLock Down Settings is now part of the 2.9 stable channel release.
Find it under Settings → Security → Lock Down Settings

Able to choose input at startup
It would have been good if it was possible to choose which input signal should be opened on the smart screen when starting the computer. Afterwards, you should of course be able to choose another input signal if you want to switch. This is to avoid selecting the correct input signal every time the smart screen is started.
1 voteGood news! There's a setting to configure which input the board will automatically switch to on start up. Take a look at Settings> System> Default input.

Add Support for Extend Display with SMART Mirror App
It would be great to be able to present and extend the display to the SMART Board, using the SMART Mirror Windows App.
This is possible with Miracast but there are bugs with Miracast I have raised with support but been told can't be fixed.1 voteNow you can choose to share an entire screen (from your primary or secondary monitor) or a window using the desktop app.

Disable the overlay when using the chromium browser
When using the chromium browser it would be nice for the ink to write directly on the page instead of having the overlay
1 voteYou can disable the overlay layer by going into Settings> Annotation and toggling the Enable annotation layers option.
Within that Setting, you can also disable the annotation layer for specific apps.

WOL
My suggestion is to implement a WOL (Wake On Lan) on the displays with Smart Boarding with IQ as it would be a good way to be able to control the displays 100% remotely without having the need to have them close by. Especially the fact of being able to turn them on at the user's needs without having to press the power button. Thank you.
1 voteGood news! You can enable WOL by going into Settings> Power and selecting Network Standby (Sleep).

Touchable Surface
Would like the option to lock the touchable black panel. Just above the pens on the 7000 series. In and outside Teamworks.
So that instead of a user by mistake managed to just click a bit above. They are taken to the iput screen.
Would like it to work as its done in the OPS (IQ mode)1 votecompleted · AdminSMART Technologies Product Management (Product Manager, SMART Technologies) respondedIn the original designs, the entire black bar at the bottom of the screen functioned as the home button. As you’ve discovered, this could result in unintended switches back to iQ/Input. The latest touch firmware for the 7000 series (released in June as an OTA update) reduces the size of the home button to only the light-up portion of the bottom of the screen to reduce the frequency of these unintentional switches.

it will be amazing if the selection of sketched things will be possible
in the whiteboard you are only allowed to design or erase and expand the whiteboard only horizzontally.
I would love to see a selection feature and a vertical expansion of the writing area.
thank you
1 votecompleted · AdminSMART Technologies Product Management (Product Manager, SMART Technologies) respondedThe new whiteboard canvas in the iQ 3.2 release will let you expand the whiteboard both horizontally and vertically now.
Ink can also be moved, rotated and resized.

Seperate Settings for Proximity Powe
Most of our teachers don't like that the proximity sensor turns on the display automatically, as there are times they want it off for extended periods. We tried to up the re-enable time to 120 but they still felt it is to short. Because of this, we have to disable the proximity sensor and the displays stay on overnight.
Is it possible to seperate the proximity settings out so the displays won't automatically power on but will auto power off if no motion is detected for some time? This would help us save on electricity and extend the life of…
1 votecompleted · AdminSMART Technologies Product Management (Product Manager, SMART Technologies) respondedThanks for this suggestion. We have new scaler firmware for 6000 series SMART Boards that add the ability to use the proximity sensors to turn the display off to save power – but leave it off until the “moon” button is pressed to turn the display on. This makes the 6000 series behave like our 7000 series in this regard. If you would like to update your board to add this setting, please contact support. They can provide you the firmware image and the instructions to apply the update.

Whiteboard Real Estate
My class just came up with some great suggestions for Smartboard improvements. If we could scroll up and down rather than just left and right. Also if we could zoom in/out.
1 voteNotebook Player in iQ 3.2 has the ability to expand the whiteboard canvas. Take a look at this video: https://youtu.be/6uUkkTrYTBU

Frozen Pen selection notification pop-up
On the Latest Beta release, when I pick up a Pen from the 6265 magnetic pen ledge, the pop-up notification shows which color pen is being used, but the pop-up gets frozen on the screen and does not colapse / disappear when the pen is returned to the ledge. I notice the same trouble on the 7000, 6000 and the Pro series boards as well. the pop-ups remain frozen on the board and it seems only a reset of yhe panels resets the issue momentarily.
1 voteWe believe this is resolved in the iQ 3.0 stable release. Thanks for beta testing!

Save whiteboard drawings to USB
I have had several clients who would like the ability to save iQ Whiteboards drawings straight to USB stick.

Rename and organize whiteboards
Most of my clients have asked for the saved whiteboard (both in smart Kapp app and those saved in the library to have the ability to name them and save into folders. I have around 200 saved on my phone and I agree it is challenging to find the one you are looking for by date only. Also the ability to forward to another users so they can share yours (ie I am out sick and I can IM my saved file to other employees phone so he can bring it up on whiteboard)
1 votecompleted · AdminSMART Technologies Product Management (Product Manager, SMART Technologies) respondedFiles (including kapp whiteboards) can be organized into folders in the Files library in iQ starting in version 3.1 (Nov 2018).
There are no plans to update the mobile app to add this functionality, but we hope the capability on the board is useful.

Spanish keyboard distribution isn't QUERTY
When I use chrome, the Spanish keyboard distribution isn't QUERTY, so it's really difficult for us (students and teachers? to use it. In US or U.K. It's QUERTY.
Is it possible to change the Spanish distribution to it too?1 voteThanks for your patience. This issue has been resolved in the iQ 2.10 release.

SmartBoard Kapp IQ Settings Option
I am using Firmware version: 2.5.18 on about 20 SmartBoard Kapp IQ boards. I would like to request the Settings options be pin protected or harder to get to. These are shared devices and we do not want end users to make changes that can cause compliance or functional issues. Please assist.
1 voteiQ 2.9 now includes a feature to lock down Settings.
Go to Settings → Security → Lock Down Settings.

Can this be used with Android, Windows and iOS please
Good morning all,
Our idea is to make the Screenshare work with all devices, iOS (which I believe already works), Android but most importantly with Windows devices (Windows always gets neglected with it comes to mobile - am not pointing at Smart only but in general).
1 voteMiracast was added to Screen Share in the iQ 2.7 release (Sept 2017).
- Don't see your idea?
