Save Whiteboard to Google Drive
I would love to be able to save and share my Whiteboard creations directly to/from my Google Drive from within the Whiteboard app. Having to use the QR code to screenshot it is added steps that seems cumbersome.
29 votesWith the latest iQ4.6 update, Whiteboard files can be saved directly to Google Drive, and files opened from Google drive (either through the Files Library Google Drive access, or with the Google Drive app) will have changes auto-saved back to Google Drive.

View pdf dowloaded from browser or view pdf in browser
We are missing an important feature for showing pdf's to our clients.
The board is used to show our site and webshop - with links to pdf's.
If we click on these pdf's we see 'downloading is not supported'.
We don't want to download the file, we want to view the file...I know you can insert a usb and view pdf's, but is very time consuming. The same with connecting a pc to it.
Thanks!
2 votesiQ 3.5 can now download and open PDFs from the Browser. Your boards should be updating to this version if it’s already connected to the internet.

Touchable Surface
Would like the option to lock the touchable black panel. Just above the pens on the 7000 series. In and outside Teamworks.
So that instead of a user by mistake managed to just click a bit above. They are taken to the iput screen.
Would like it to work as its done in the OPS (IQ mode)1 votecompleted ·

In the original designs, the entire black bar at the bottom of the screen functioned as the home button. As you’ve discovered, this could result in unintended switches back to iQ/Input. The latest touch firmware for the 7000 series (released in June as an OTA update) reduces the size of the home button to only the light-up portion of the bottom of the screen to reduce the frequency of these unintentional switches.

Miracast UIBC
Implementing Miracast UIBC would let the touch/pens work over the same Miracast connection Screen Share uses allowing for a truly wireless connection
4 votesSMART Screen Share on legacy SMART Boards with iQ3 displays and SMART Mirror on current generation SMART Boards with iQ4 support Miracast touchback.
Note that pens do not work over Miracast touchback due to a limitation of the Miracast UIBC protocol. Pens will most likely function as mouse input.

Add text to the whiteboard
I would like to be able to add text to the whiteboard instead of just ink.
7 votesThe text tool is now available within the iQ Whiteboard.
On iQ3, you can insert text using the Text Pen. More information can be found here: https://support.smarttech.com/docs/software/iq/en/deliver-lessons/writing-drawing-erasing.cshtml. You can also edit the contents of a text box by double tapping on the text box.
On iQ4, there is a text tool under the More tools button on the toolbar. More information can be found here: https://support.smarttech.com/docs/software/iq/4/en/whiteboard/whiteboard.cshtml#MoreTools. You can also insert text using the Text Pen that is found within the pen toolbar.

Seperate Settings for Proximity Powe
Most of our teachers don't like that the proximity sensor turns on the display automatically, as there are times they want it off for extended periods. We tried to up the re-enable time to 120 but they still felt it is to short. Because of this, we have to disable the proximity sensor and the displays stay on overnight.
Is it possible to seperate the proximity settings out so the displays won't automatically power on but will auto power off if no motion is detected for some time? This would help us save on electricity and extend the life of…

Thanks for this suggestion. We have new scaler firmware for 6000 series SMART Boards that add the ability to use the proximity sensors to turn the display off to save power – but leave it off until the “moon” button is pressed to turn the display on. This makes the 6000 series behave like our 7000 series in this regard. If you would like to update your board to add this setting, please contact support. They can provide you the firmware image and the instructions to apply the update.

it will be amazing if the selection of sketched things will be possible
in the whiteboard you are only allowed to design or erase and expand the whiteboard only horizzontally.
I would love to see a selection feature and a vertical expansion of the writing area.
thank you

The new whiteboard canvas in the iQ 3.2 release will let you expand the whiteboard both horizontally and vertically now.
Ink can also be moved, rotated and resized.

iQ 3.0 in a shared environment like a school classroom
How can I use all the new features in iQ 3.0 if another teacher wants something completely different? Can you please create user accounts for that?
4 votesiQ 3.4 includes the ability for users to log in to the board with their own SMART Account so that each user have their own settings and preferences.

Whiteboard Real Estate
My class just came up with some great suggestions for Smartboard improvements. If we could scroll up and down rather than just left and right. Also if we could zoom in/out.
1 voteNotebook Player in iQ 3.2 has the ability to expand the whiteboard canvas. Take a look at this video: https://youtu.be/6uUkkTrYTBU

Notebook Player now has the ability to expand the whiteboard area to a 3×3 whiteboard. This means more space to add content on all sides of the board.
To get the expanded whiteboard, use your finger to pan the canvas all the way to the left or right. You’ll see a radar view showing the expanded area.

Within iQ 3.5, you can install WPS Office from the Apps Store to open Office docs.
To access to apps store, go to Apps and then select the New tile at the top left.

Import images & files
It would bec useful to have the ability to import images files, PDF, PPT etc and work on these within the whiteboard mode. THis is currently available in the Clevertouch version of Whiteboarding.
8 votesThis is now available on SMART Board with iQ 3.8 or newer.
Users will be able to insert images from the web or stored locally on the SMART Board.

Support a webcam/microphone for Google Hangouts
I want to use the web RTC version of Google Hangouts from the browser. Please support a webcam/microphone or even just a microphone for this.

Consult your webcam manufacturer to see if its devices are compatible with Android or the UVC protocol.

Whiteboard backgrounds
I like the grid that shows when the whiteboard is panning. It would be nice to be able to specify a background for the whiteboard, like grids or lines to assist with writing nicely on the board.

Background support is part of the iQ 3.2 release.
When you create a new whiteboard page, you can select a background before you write on the screen.
To change the background on an existing page, use the page sorter.

New features - add pages
I love the new feature where you can have more than one page by sliding your hand across the kapp screen. The grid is very useful. Is it possible to create the option in order to keep it up there to use for bar graphs or to help writing straight?
3 votesNotebook Player in iQ 3.2 has the ability to expand the whiteboard canvas. You can organize your whiteboard so that each quadrant is a different “page”.
We’ve also added the ability to add lined paper and graph paper backgrounds to the whiteboard. This might be useful for doing graphs.
Take a look at this video for a demo of these new features: https://youtu.be/6uUkkTrYTBU

Spanish keyboard distribution isn't QUERTY
When I use chrome, the Spanish keyboard distribution isn't QUERTY, so it's really difficult for us (students and teachers? to use it. In US or U.K. It's QUERTY.
Is it possible to change the Spanish distribution to it too?1 voteThanks for your patience. This issue has been resolved in the iQ 2.10 release.

On Screen Code for Screen Sharing
Need an option to require an on screen code to initiate screen sharing. This is crucial to keep secondary students from initiating an unwanted screen share session.
4 votesA new setting has been added in iQ 3.0 to satisfy this need. If you go to Settings → Screen Share and enable “Require Permission” you will be prompted to accept incoming connections from the board before they are allowed to share.
Unlike PIN/password, this option is consistent for AirPlay, Google Cast and Miracast connections.

Frozen Pen selection notification pop-up
On the Latest Beta release, when I pick up a Pen from the 6265 magnetic pen ledge, the pop-up notification shows which color pen is being used, but the pop-up gets frozen on the screen and does not colapse / disappear when the pen is returned to the ledge. I notice the same trouble on the 7000, 6000 and the Pro series boards as well. the pop-ups remain frozen on the board and it seems only a reset of yhe panels resets the issue momentarily.
1 voteWe believe this is resolved in the iQ 3.0 stable release. Thanks for beta testing!
