Good news. Lumio now supports Immersive Reader. Check it out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gi9tl82NKHI

Has there been any development with Lumio and assistive technology? I have been working with teachers at our school board who are utilizing Lumio in their classrooms. Read&Write for Google Chrome does not interact with Lumio to access text-to-speech, speech-to-text or predictive text. I tried the suggestion of using Screenshot Reader but that did not read the text aloud properly.
For students where it has been deemed essential to access the curriculum with assistive technology, it would seem incumbant for SMART Technologies to either
1. allow 3rd party apps such as Read&Write to work with Lumio or
2. create an in-the-box read-aloud option for students who require this accomodation.A simple 'play' button could be added with voice settings to read the text on the screen for students.

I have found that I can use Read&Write for Google Chrome to read text in SLSO. I may need to use the Screenshot Reader, but it does the job, once students know how to activate & select.

I teach online and many of my students are on IEP's and need audio and/or ability to text to speech.

Yes, I think that the students could benefit from from an embedded audio piece that the teacher can create that reads the text or directions; however, if there is technology available that reads all text for students by clicking on the different components of the games this would be amazing.

I have used Read&Write for Google Chrome to read text on an SLSO lesson. I use the Screen Shot Reader tool.

Yes....this is a MUST in elementary classrooms now. We use extensions in Chrome to make it happen. I also like the option of teachers being able to turn it on and off.

Yes, exactly! Or highlight the word/sentence they want read to them. Of course, with an option for the teacher to turn it on/off as necessary.
