Reintroduce alignment tools
Reintroduce the alignment tools so that things can be easily centred like in version 22. This made creating smarting looking files easier.

Importfunktion verbessern
Es sollte einfacher sein, *.flipchart-Dateien zu importieren. Das hinterlegte *.flp-Format ist längst obsolet. Der Import über *.iwb erfolgt leider nicht verlustfrei.

It is impossible to work. Every class I have several crashes of smartnotebook. It is the first version like that!

My first recommendation is to upgrade your version of Notebook at your earliest convenience. Imagine lecturing for 3 hours and make more than 25 pages, and realize that they are not in order.
1 voteYou can find this in Edit > Preferences > Defaults (second tab). We moved this into settings to save space in the page navigator for users who do not want automatic page names. The default is set to Blank, but you can change it to "Date and time" to have the effect you're looking for.

the geodreieck
In 23.2.1668.0 version in our schoolboard, the geodreieck is an object. You cannot manipulate it like in the 22 version. And it not a new feature, we had it before.

Wir verwenden die kostenpflichtige plus-Lizenz, können aber den bing-Bildimport nicht nutzen, seit der web-filter installiert wurde. Die aktuell publizierte url-Liste für die whitelist-Konfiguration funktioniert nicht mit dem web-Filer des Server-providers SBE. Sie scheint nicht vollständig zu sein. Es sind keine bing-urls enthalten. Manuelles Hinzufügen von common bing-urls zur whitelist hat nicht geholfen.

Extend page function
As others have commented, you can create info further down a page but once saved, it doesn't seem to be accessible, even in full screen view! Someone commented that v23.1 fixes this but it hasn't. The only way I can view what I've made is to View in Notebook 22. Honestly, I'd so much rather go back to 22...
1 voteHello, Tricia. I am unable to recreate this error in 23.1. When I save an extended page, the entire page is still accessible when I reopen the file. You may be experiencing a bug on your individual device. If you reach out to Notebook customer support, they will walk through this problem with you and try to find a solution.

bug: pen orientation off when tapping toolbar
In versions 23 and 22, when I use the pen to tap a toolbar item, the horizontal location is off by an amount proportional to the horizontal distance from the center of the screen. In other words, it's fine when I tap items near the center of the toolbar, but if I tap items to the far left or far right, the tap target is off by an inch or two from where I'm actually tapping!
This doesn't occur with finger touches - only pen touches.

rotate compass without drawing
It would be nice to be able to rotate the compass without having it draw the arc. In multi-step geometric constructions the results can look very cluttered if every rotation is drawn.
Suggestion: allow dragging the upper part of the pencil (outside the colored band) to rotate without drawing. Dragging the central colored band of the pencil would rotate AND draw.

Improvements included with this addition:
- You can now Undo an extend page (in case you extend by accident).
- The page no longer truncates its length to the lowest object when moving to another page. Length will stay as defined so you can use that space when returning to the page.

Being able to choose any color when using the highlighter pen
Please bring back the ability to choose any color with the highlight pen feature. I use this tool regularly to show students how to color in a chart/picture/diagram while still being able to see what is underneath for observations and to help them follow along. I would love for this feature to be available again.

Accents with keystrokes
PLEASE bring back being able to write diacritical marks (accents, etc.) with key strokes. Also, copying and pasting text with those marks - now I have to go back and retype those letters. This never happened until recently.

Where possible, we have replaced Flash objects with HTML. With Adobe permanently ending Flash, we advise users to convert where possible and replace when you must.

Smart Notebook player Issue
Hi, I have smart board 6065 v2. I am trying to use it without a computer and the pen is not able to write on the notebook canvas. It drags the whole canvas. How do I resolve this? Also, when I search for images it does not load. It loads videos only. I went to settings and then software to update it. It updated, installed, and restarted. Still, the problem persists. Kindly help.

Being able to use the screen shade from the edge of the screen.
I would like to be able to manipulate the screen shade from anywhere on the screen like we used to be able to. With 23, we can only drag the screen shade using the circle handles in the middle of the screen.

Open with Smart 22
Can we please have a feature that allows us to open all files in Smart22 rather than clicking "view" and then "open in 22".
The new version of Smart seems to have taken a GIANT step back.
16 votesYou can now set which version of Notebook, 22.2 or 23.1, launches from your desktop shortcut. This option is available in your User Preferences settings.

Ik mis de functie om een volgeschreven pagina verder uit te breiden naar onderen. Echt onmisbaar voor lange wiskunde uitwerkingen!

Dual Page Display
Where did Dual Page Display go?? It is the key reason I have been using Notebook for years, when every other professor I know uses PowerPoint.
You'd think SMART would try to keep features that distinguish it from the competition. I guess I'll need to make the switch once Notebook 22 is no longer available.
