Does 17.0 not allow the memory game? This is so disappointing as I have used it for so many things in the past with my students and they absolutely love it!

Linux is missing! You have not come out with a version of Smart Notebook since 11. What's more, the last version of Smart Notebook 11 for Linux does not work on 64 bit distros, only 32 bit ones. 32 bit distros are being phased out. Linux users need a current version of your software, and it needs to work on 64 distros, particularly Ubuntu.

"Pairs" is not really the same as "Match 'Em Up". Not being able to play the memory-style game in Notebook 17 is really unfortunate. In version 17, my memory games (created from Pairs template in earlier notebook files) are automatically converted into the smart lab game "match 'em up". This really isn't the same - it misses the whole concentration-style game aspect and becomes just another matching task... I may need to roll back to 16.2 as this is one of my students' favorite activities...

Explicitly list post beta features In your documentation In your marketing e-Mail for this they say ...
"You’ll have full access to Notebook 17 for 45 days, but even if you don’t purchase a subscription, you can keep using a limited version of the software for as long as you wish. Even the limited version of Notebook 17 has far more features than Notebook 11.4 and other previous versions!"... could you list explicitly the features that will and won't be retained so that end users can assess whether the post-beta version does indeed meet their requirements.

I can't move a slide from one notebook file to another In other versions, I was able to drag-and-drop a slide from one notebook file to another. In this version, this process doesn't seem to be working.

Equations and text - being able to group together First, using the insert equation feature does not allow the equation to be in the middle of text. The equation shows up in the upper left corner. So I tried to make room for it in the text, then group the equation with the text. But the "group" was grayed out and not accessible.

SMART lab It would be great to be able to use the timer, buzzer, dice, spinning wheel, and hat pick independent of a SMART lab activity. For example, teachers may want to use the hat pick to randomly select a student for a different in-class activity unrelated to SMART lab. Perhaps these tools could be placed in the Gallery for easy access. These options would help alleviate the dependence some teachers have on Flash animations such as Random word chooser.
32 votesThanks for the suggestion. This is something that we’re looking into right now.

Favorite Flash Animation Replacements Here are some favorite flash animation items used by our teachers. It would be great to have replacement options in place for these: Random group picker (image/text) and Random word chooser.

Widgets The widgets (timer, dice, pull tap, ..) are very helpful tools for the classroom. But I still miss further widgets to replace the "old" interactive flash animations especially the scoreboard, the random group generator and the random word chooser.

NB17 very slow to start up It appears there is a lot of processing time vs disk-read time.

random card generator I'd love to be able to randomly draw cards from a deck. Just like I can spin dice, I'd like to be able to randomly draw cards.

Resizing images does not work When I resized an imported image, then clicked on it to move it, the image went back to the original size. I could not keep it the size I wanted.

Equation Editor The addition of an equation editor will be MUCH appreciated by teachers and students! I look forward to digging into it deeper.

Smaller line thickness when writing by hand When I moved from NB15 to NB16, I noticed that the minimum line thickness that I can choose when writing by hand appears thicker than before. I have also heard from a collegue that she does not like using the iwb for writing a lot of text because she has to write large letter because of the line thickness and therefore cannot get enough onto one visible page. So she constantly reverts back to the chalk board. I don't, but I would still like to write smaller letters. So I would appreciate the minimum for the normal pen tool to…

Highlighting covers text when exporting as pdf I often work with text or text inserted as a picture and then highlight certain phrases in our discussion on class. I then share the boardwork with my class via our VLE. Since I updated to 16.2, however, the highlighting bars cover the text completely so that you cannot read anymore what's underneath. With text I can get around it by moving the text to the foreground, with picture it is not possible. Please correct this. Up until 16.1 that was not a problem.

Equation Editor I would like the equation editor to insert the equation where I am currently on the page rather than always at the top left corner of the page. I'd also like to set the default font size smaller.

I love love love having all the Lab activities move out to student devices I would love to see more lab activities that can have students in groups and that look like monster quiz though. My students are highly engaged in this and it really allows us to focus on big emphasis areas in our curriculum of communication and collaboration.
