Save an edited session back to My Library as a new file
Currently, when teachers edit a Session, those edits only apply to the Session itself and are not reflected in the original file in My Library. Teachers have asked for a way to preserve the edits they make during or after delivery without carrying over the student work.
This idea proposes adding the ability to save an edited Session back to My Library as a new file.
This would:
- Preserve all teacher edits made to the Session.
- Exclude student work so the file is clean for reuse.
- Allow teachers to keep an updated version of their lesson/assignment without needing to manually recreate changes.
This would give teachers more flexibility in managing their content, especially when differentiating instruction or refining lessons after delivery.

please add the ability to import session content (slide) into Lumio Library document, at least using Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V.
If possible, please add the ability to import multiple slides through Ctrl+Shift, Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V, as well.
Thank you. -
Hi Carmen,
Thank you for sharing your feedback. Could you tell me a bit more about your use case for wanting an option to display slides without creating a session? Understanding your workflow will help us see where the friction is.
The goal of sessions is to help separate student work from your original lesson files, so that each class or group of students has their own space for work. That said, if you don’t want to create a brand-new session every time, you can always return to the Class Sessions tab and open the previous session by clicking Start live to continue with that same session rather than generating a new one.

Have an option to not create a session. Slides just displayed.

Please add this feature! It would be so helpful to be able to "Upload" into "My Library" an edited "Class Session". I edit Class Sessions, and then I can't save them to "My Library". So when I want to find those edited slides, I have to go back through my "Class Sessions" to find them.
Thank you for considering this.

I've had this come up at a training session too - this is a really important feature for teachers now that edits are possible in Class Sessions.
It would be a great feature! -
Thank you for sharing your ideas. We will look into adding more efficient ways to replicate your changes to all sessions. In the meantime as a workaround, if you've made a new activity that you also want to use for other periods, you can copy and paste pages from one session to another.

Yes - this would be very helpful!

Hi Jeff,
Thanks for sharing your feedback.
At the moment, there isn’t a way to copy pages from a session back into a file in My Library. This is due to a technical limitation that we’re looking to resolve.
In the meantime, while you can’t copy from a session back to a file, you can copy and paste pages between sessions. If you’d like to reuse the same activity with another group of students, you can open two sessions in different tabs and use Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V to copy and paste pages between them.
I know this isn’t as seamless as copying back to My Library, but I hope the workaround helps for now.
Thanks again for taking the time to share your feedback,

How do I find a slide (activity) that I created in "class sessions" I want to add it to a different lesson in my Library. Is there a way to move the slide to my library without recreating it?

Hi Jill. Great to hear you’re finding live session edits useful! Your idea about applying changes across all sessions from the same template makes a lot of sense. Would it also help if we made it easy for you to take a session you made changes to and overwrite the original file with those changes so that subsequent sessions you create from the file will have the latest?

It is awesome that teachers can make edits within a live session!
Another thing that would amazing is if the changes made in class session could be applied to all the class sessions with that same template. That way, if a teacher makes a change in her first period class, she doesn't have to start a new session with her other classes and lose their data.
