Remotely Configure MX System Update Settings from SMART Remote Management
We have 150 MX boards (66% V5), where it would be of benefit of us to manage the board's system update settings via the Remote Management system.
Our preferred method of updating the boards would be to test an update on a few boards before allowing the update to roll out to the rest of our boards.
Rather than visit each board, we would like to be able to configure these settings via policies in Smart Remote Management.
6 votesCustom commands can be sent via SMART Remote Management to configure your displays' update policies. See this page for more info: https://support.smarttech.com/docs/online-services/remote-management/en/running-other-commands/sending-custom-commands.cshtml#

New whiteboard page
Hi, I would like to have the possibilities to add a new whiteboard page lower down, for example to press the plus sign (like it is in Lumio).
We also had recognize that the picture with three clocks is under the label manipulatives but there is no interactivity, so it should be under the label organizer instead.1 voteHi Mona, we will be releasing iQ 4 this year, and with it, the iQ Whiteboard will have a new menu design that allows you to place it where you choose on the screen. That will include placing the New Page button within easier reach.

Board login
Need to have a way to login to the board with Google account that does not require entering username and password on the screen. Also need a way to enter the screen lock PIN without having to do it on the board.
Not practical or secure to do this in front of a class full of students!
Best solution would be through app that connects to board that teacher can login with so it is not seen on board.9 votesUsers can now scan a QR code with their mobile phone to sign into a SMART Board running iQ4. See this page for more information: https://support.smarttech.com/docs/software/iq/4/en/getting-started/sign-in.cshtml
Legacy SMART Boards running iQ3 will be receiving an iQ 3.17 update expected in the Fall 2025 with this mobile phone QR code sign in capability.
Users with certain SMART Board models equipped with an NFC reader -- such as SMART Board 6000S, 6000S-V3, MX-V4, MX-V5, QX Pro, QX-V2 Pro, and RX series -- can also use their SMART ID cards to sign in to their display.

Floating Keyboard placement
After the most recent update, the floating keyboard when signing 365 always starts in the upper left most part of the board. The user must drag the keyboard down to input the user name, and then again for the password. It was not like that on the old version of the software.

Being able to shutdown SMART Board with Smart Remote Managment
We have 70 SMART Board in many colleges and for us is a good that we can shutdown all the boards through Smart Remote Managment. If shutdown were avalaible we can schedule an automatic task to power off the boards and save energy in our schools.

Update chromium web browser on Smart Board MX boards
Please update chromium on the smart board MX series. The ability to use a web browser gives the smart board mx unparalleled flexibility. Right now, the chromium web browser is out of date, and is no longer able to access the most up to date features of google drive/suite tools. For example, you can no longer enter and exit presentation mode on google slides, nor is the google drive website as easy to navigate as it was last year.
Please update the chromium software to a more recent build to be able to utilize the great synchronicity between google and…

Hide floating keyboard when external keyboard is attached
It would be great if there were a setting we could enable to hide the floating keyboard when an external keyboard is attached. The keyboard pops up when we touch the panel on a text entry field option. It gets annoying and is distracting for students.
3 votesAlthough Android can't reliably detect when an external keyboard is connected, on iQ 3.15, there is a setting to turn off the on screen keyboard in Settings> Languages> Keyboard language.
Let me know if this is an acceptable workaround.

Wake on lan
As our clients need to do some remote maintenance to the panels, woold be great taht wake on lan feature was available, because the SMATs usually are on standby mode after used in the classrooms
6 votesWake on LAN is available on the MX. You may need to set the power savings mode in Settings> Power> Energy Saving Mode to Networked Standby (https://support.smarttech.com/docs/hardware/displays/smart-board-mx/en/adjusting-iq-settings/iq-settings.cshtml).
Here is some SMART Remote Management documentation on how to work with WOL: https://support.smarttech.com/docs/online-services/remote-management/en/running-other-commands/restarting-shutting-down-and-waking.cshtml

mirror
In the panel's settings, there is a 'Board Name.' Can this board name be used as the device name within SMART Mirror? When the board is turned on/off with the black button on the side, the SMART Mirror settings are cleared, resulting in numerous devices with the same name to connect to: iMQ995. This presents an issue with 40+ airplay options. If SMART Mirror used the Board Name from the panel settings, the name would remain since that is not cleared with a hard shut down.

The latest version of SMART Mirror (4.17) now persists the name across a power cycle.

Lock Screen on MX Series
Due to students accessing the web browser on the board in a location where internet is limited to only staff, I would like the capability of a lock screen on the MX series, so that teachers have to enter a pin or code in order to use the board at all. Other options would include using the USB key or something else along that line to lock/unlock the screen.

displays start into iQ experience after Startup command
When display is starting up, allow users to set which input shows on screen, rather than the last input selected.
When display is exiting standby mode and switching to the On state (through 3rd party control systems), have the Default input option (setting > System Settings > System > Default Input) allow the unit to be set to the iQ experience, instead of last input selected. It appears that this "default input" setting only functions when the power to the display is removed (power failure).

Under Settings>System the user can specify what input the board starts on.
I hope this solves your issue!
