2. Streamline Camera.

   When taking photos with the camera feature please put the dropdown menu back under the choices(full screen, partial, etc...) where we can check a box to "save to current SMART notebook page" or "save to new SMART notebook page" so we don't have to click that choice EVERY time we take a picture. I just want to make a choice once and then take tons of pictures at a time and have them all so the same thing. Previous versions had this option.

4. "Align" feature is missing: please put it back!

   The "Align" feature has been removed from the latest version: it has become impossible to easily and efficiently align objects (the top of one with the bottom of another for example) ; impossible as well to align objects with the center of the page (because we can't know where the center of the page is anymore!) ; impossible to draw perfectly horizontal or vertical lines (what's the point of being able to draw lines then?)...

   This feature is essential and exists in other competitor softwares, so why no longer on Notebook? Moreover, it always has been an option: you could choose to use it or not, there was really no need to take it off...

   Please, PLEASE, for the sake of us teachers, put it back !

5. Mask feature is missing in SN 23.

   I went to Mask part of an image. It wasn't an option anymore. What? Who takes away features?? This is not an update. SN 23 crashes way too often. It also has trouble saving certain drawings. I drew a triangle in a previous version and the hypotenuse was flipped right/left. When I reopened the file, the hypotenuse was going the wrong way again.

6. Feature request for Version 23

   You can no longer add text to Shapes in version 23. Also when you have links to a place in the document they no longer work on individual objects when they are grouped. These were all features that worked in previous builds.

7. New Version is no longer usable

   The tables are now useless. I can't type directly into the boxes anymore and trying to shrink the font is frustrating. I shouldn't have to redo work I've been using since September. Also, in the gallery, the music notes, which I have been using for many, many years can no longer be shrunk. When I try to resize them to make them workable they go blurry. I am going back to version 22 thanks to a post in here, but I think it's ridiculous that I have to do that with every file.

11. Working correctly would be a HUGE improvement.

    In this latest version, I am using an EPSON projector and pen. In the last two weeks I am constantly having pens just freeze on one tool. For example, I am picking a black pen, getting a red pen. I then select the eraser, but it is still a red pen. Cannot select any other tool except red pen.
    Closing the program and restarting sometimes temporarily solves this problem, but it returns constantly. I love this product when it works. I am constantly let down. ALSO trying to attach the ZIP file that your program created as a diagnostic, this type of file is not allowed here?

12. Make the Match Em Up game suitable for long math equations

    When using the activity, Match Em Up, the software does not support long equations like 8(3x -7) = 6(4x +6) without jumbling up the equation. Also, posting pictures does not help because it is too small to see. This activity works with very few characters like 2x = 8.

14. REIMPLIMENT BASIC GRAPHIC CONTROLS

    When drawing a line please reinstate the snap horizontal and snap vertical options.

    When scaling shapes holding "shift" or "control" ought to maintain proportions.

    These are basic Windows controls and were correctly implemented in previous versions. Where and why have they gone? It is very hard to teach maths when you can't realiably construct diagrams.

    Print Preview page is constantly refreshing whenever you change the smallest detail and it takes ages just to set a few options and then print. It never used to do this.

16. Locked ink not erasable.

    Whenever I lock anything written with the pens, it should not be possible to still erase. This defeats the purpose of locking it at all.

18. Please offer Presentation mode

    There should be a "presentation mode", in addition to editing mode. In presentation mode, your hand can't accidentally trigger edits on the touch screen. In editing mode, accidental touch causes objects on the page to jump around as if you were trying to move them.

19. Smart Notebook 23 has issues with version 22 files such as backgrounds etc.

    The support suggestion to open version 23 first rather than opening the previous version 22 file directly is not good. It immediately breaks the version 22 file if it has any backgrounds such as lined paper and graph paper. Response from SMART Support.

    I have reviewed the files you sent. I can see the issues with the arrangement of text boxes.

    The issue is likely the result of the change that was made to SMART Notebook 23's workspace. The workspace is not a strict 16:9 aspect ratio. The issue persisted for you when you tried to open the files in Notebook 22.2 due to the fact that when you select that option in Notebook 23, the file is automatically saved as it appears and then relaunches in Notebook 22.

    Due to this, any files that you've already opened in Notebook 23 and saved (either manually or by selecting Open in Notebook 22), cannot be reverted to their original formatting and would have to be edited or readjusted by the teacher using them.

    As a workaround for future files, I would suggest opening Notebook 23 directly (not by double clicking an existing lesson) so that the software opens a blank new file. Once open you can select the "Open in 22" option from the View menu. After the software relaunches Notebook 22.2, you can then choose Open from the File menu and open your files. Alternatively once you have the software open as Notebook 22, you can drag and drop your files into the workspace where they will open like normal.
