Apple ID as an Additional SSO Provider for Lumio™ by SMART
Dear SMART,
Adding Apple ID as a Single Sign-On option would be a strategic upgrade for Lumio™ by SMART. In the DACH region’s education market, Apple devices are widely used by teachers and students, so native login would ease access and fit existing setups.
Several competitors like Promethean, ViewSonic, Prowise, and Clevertouch already support multiple identity providers. Offering Apple ID would improve Lumio’s standing, lower hurdles for Apple-focused districts, and improve the experience for current users.
For users, Apple SSO delivers a quick, secure, and familiar sign-in without extra credentials. This may boost adoption, and promote wider use of Lumio™ by SMART in Apple-centered classrooms. Enabling this authentication would match modern classroom technology, meet expectations for smooth access, and show SMART’s focus on a user-centered, platform-agnostic learning tool.
Cheers,
Thomas
Hi Thomas. Thanks for your feedback. We are planning to add Apple ID support to Lumio.

In my region (D-A-CH) and in many parts of Europe it is very difficult to have the need of a Google/Microsoft account to log-on to Lumio™ by SMART. In the very first moment you are mentioning the names Google or Microsoft to a decision maker he/she immediately is stopping to listen to you and he/she will show you the way out.
Personally, I totally get the idea behind this strategic approach and I have no issues with this single sign on idea, BUT if SMART would provide a neutral, additional third way based on a standard e-mail address (not related to Google/Microsoft) it would help the channel here a lot to spread the word about Lumio and to get heard and get (positive) attention.
