Need to be able to create new files and have feature parity w/ traditional SMART Notebook
My district currently utilizes the free Limited Mode version of SMART Notebook. We are interested in Smart Learning Suite Online, but before we can buy, I need SLSO to allow users to create NEW notebook file. We are a G Suite for Education district and are in a transition to Chromebooks. Our teachers have Windows computers currently, but we cannot adopt any solution that precludes the use of a Chromebook as an option for a planned purchase of new faculty laptops in June 2021. We are looking to establish a recommended and supported standard for our teacher's instructional and interactive content. If we are going to buy into the subscription that would be an ongoing annual financial commitment (into the foreseeable future), I need to know feature parity w/ the legacy Win & Mac versions of SMART Notebook is planned to allow us to be fully transitioned from the locally installed versions of SMART Notebook to SLSO by June 2021. At this point I am checking SLSO multiple times a week and as soon as we can create new files and can get this reassurance on the developmental path for SLSO, we'll be ready to subscribe.
Thank you for taking the time to send us such thorough feedback. We do plan on expanding on our lesson creation feature set in 2019. However, since Notebook is a large and complex application, we would really appreciate feedback on the prioritization of different creation features. If you don’t mind, please reply to this message, and we can reach out to you directly about the details.

The best notebook features to add would be the ones you have available in Smart Maestro! I feel like you have already done the hard work of prioritization within that app. A screenshade would also be nice, as teachers in my district use that quite frequently!

I'd really like to be able to move forward with SMART as the standard interactive presentation software in my district, but we're all Chromebook. We love the Chromebook, but from what I've read and seen, it doesn't look like SMART has much for us at the moment. Please let me know if there is someone I could discuss this with. Thanks!

This sounds great. I'm hoping SMART Learning Suite Online subscription can be our standard solution, district-wide. I'm very interested in any details that may help us get there, as soon as possible. Please feel free to reach to me to discuss. Thanks!
