Individual sticker to make any object a SMART Tool Explorer tool
It would be awesome to have a kind of sticker which can be attached to a physical object to make this object work like a SMART Tool explorer tool.
Let's say a teacher wants to use his/her physical, traditional "old school" ruler or protractor on the 6000s. How awesome would it be if he/she can put a sticker onto the ruler or the protractor and these objects would behave as the digital tools in SMART iQ™ or in the SMART Notebook® software. Underneath the shape of the physical tool you will see the matching digital tool. If you are moving or rotating the physical tool with the sticker, the digital tool will "follow" you.
This would allow the users to still work with their common physical tools on a digital whiteboard by automatically displaying the related digital tools.
By the way, this is a common tender request in my region D-A-CH (to be able to use the existing, non digital tools with the display) and if SMART is able to provide this and to add the additional functionality mentioned above, we will ending up with another USP for SMART.

We are tackling this solution in a slightly different way by allowing users to program whatever image they want on to the stamps they currently have. This will be available in the upcoming iQ 3.15.

Hi Kyle, Thanks for your comment. I had the honor to get hands-on to the pre-release of 3.15 by Calgary last month and the new SMART Tool Explorer app is really great! Thanks a lot!

Hi Thomas - I'm not sure if you are aware but iQ 3.15 will allow users to program the Tool Explorer cubes and stamps to other digital assets...this is a step in the right direction to enable broader use cases -- however, we do not yet have the ability to apply this technology to non-SMART tools.
