Display Name in Miracast list
Our customer, who is using a Chromebook, is attempting to cast their screen to a SMART Board via Screen Share using Miracast. They need to modify the display name on the Miracast list. Currently, the display name appears as 'SMART Mirror- (code)'. This is causing confusion in classrooms with multiple SMART Boards on the same network, as there are too many similar display names that don't correspond to the classroom numbers.

Sharing directly to a student's device
I am a Teacher Consultant for the Visually Impaired from Michigan that works with many low vision students that need access to what is being presented on the Smartboard on their own devices (i.e. an iPad or a Chromebook). This allows them the close proximity to the screen that they need, and also the ability to magnify smaller details on the screen as necessary. I just talked with Smart Tech Support and it seems that the only option for this currently is to use virtual meeting software (i.e. Teams, Zoom, Google Meet), which is what several of my students are…

broadcast
Teachers are asking for ways to share what's on their boards to student devices outside of lumio lessons. This would be anything on the iQ platform, and potentially on an onboard OPS PC? Basically asking for screen sharing "the other way" as a broadcast type feature.

Add Support for Extend Display with SMART Mirror App
It would be great to be able to present and extend the display to the SMART Board, using the SMART Mirror Windows App.
This is possible with Miracast but there are bugs with Miracast I have raised with support but been told can't be fixed.1 voteNow you can choose to share an entire screen (from your primary or secondary monitor) or a window using the desktop app.

SMART Mirror - Unable to seemlessly switch between the whiteboard and the current screen share session
When sharing your screen using SMART Mirror and you switch to the whiteboard tool, this ends your current screen sharing session. To share a participants screen again, you have to manually connect back to the session.
This can pose problems for teachers who present at the front of the classroom. They will need to go back to the computer to manually connect again after each whiteboard session.
While we can use the whiteboard application within iQ, it would be nice to be able to switch or prevent the screen sharing session from ended when switched to the whiteboard tool.

Landscape orientation of Smart Mirror App for Android
Smart Mirror App for Android is always locked in a portrait orientation. Rather annoying since you are usually using the device in landscape mode (the same of the smartboard).

Native Screen Share form Windows and Android devices.
We would suggest returning the native screen share from Windows devices to iQ (SMART Mirror - V3). It is annoying for occasional / roaming users that they have to download a screen sharing app. Most users share content from Windows devices.

Next, invite connected displays to begin sharing by clicking on Grid View on the SMART Mirror home screen.

Miracast UIBC
Implementing Miracast UIBC would let the touch/pens work over the same Miracast connection Screen Share uses allowing for a truly wireless connection
4 votesSMART Screen Share on legacy SMART Boards with iQ3 displays and SMART Mirror on current generation SMART Boards with iQ4 support Miracast touchback.
Note that pens do not work over Miracast touchback due to a limitation of the Miracast UIBC protocol. Pens will most likely function as mouse input.

On Screen Code for Screen Sharing
Need an option to require an on screen code to initiate screen sharing. This is crucial to keep secondary students from initiating an unwanted screen share session.
4 votesA new setting has been added in iQ 3.0 to satisfy this need. If you go to Settings → Screen Share and enable “Require Permission” you will be prompted to accept incoming connections from the board before they are allowed to share.
Unlike PIN/password, this option is consistent for AirPlay, Google Cast and Miracast connections.

Can this be used with Android, Windows and iOS please
Good morning all,
Our idea is to make the Screenshare work with all devices, iOS (which I believe already works), Android but most importantly with Windows devices (Windows always gets neglected with it comes to mobile - am not pointing at Smart only but in general).
1 voteMiracast was added to Screen Share in the iQ 2.7 release (Sept 2017).
