An error occurred while saving the comment Mike McGowan commentedThe equation editor is nice and needed for students to get them ready for what is on PARCC. But the button is too similar to the Equation Pen. Please don't tell me that is going away as that is too valuable. They both need to and can co-exsist but the icons need to be a little more different from each other.

An error occurred while saving the comment Mike McGowan commentedI like the idea behind this but it needs to grow. I need to be able to send a group of activities for students to complete and I also need feedback on how they are doing as a teacher. So the framework and the start is there. If this is where it ends I am not sure how much this will be used.

An error occurred while saving the comment Mike McGowan commentedI like this one. I think kids will really get a kick out of it. I do think a generic theme would be good for this for older students but I can get behind the way it is now. Only suggestion would be to be able to add more answer choices. I know 4 is standard and you can always do less but to be able to add more would be nice in some cases or at least have the option.

An error occurred while saving the comment Mike McGowan commentedSorry but for me this is a huge step backwards. This is one feature I just don't think I will get use to and to call it Response 2 when features were removed doesn't seem right. I always thought Response was one of the most solid tools SMART every put out and was near perfect as is. There are so many aspects that I have now lost that made me want to use Response. Importing questions, using the screen capture tool to make my tests, using the answer key function just to name a few and these are without the teacher tools that I lost. But those I could part with if I had the same Response functionality.
Also as a Tech Dir the Google log in thing I am not a huge fan here. There are so many things that having a connection with Google or MS that we could benefit from but this is not one of them. Also with the things you need access to in our accounts doesn't really make sense but they could just be standard from Google. You will need to remember some GAFE domain admins control this aspect of Google and teachers might not be able to authorize SMART themselves.

An error occurred while saving the comment Mike McGowan commentedI can get behind this. I don't use SMART Ink often as I live in NB. But having the extra tools will come in handy. And always being able to store and use my favorites is always nice.

An error occurred while saving the comment Mike McGowan commentedThese are going to take some time to get use to. I can say first impression wise not a huge fan of the changes. Looks to staril. In my opinion these look like incomplete icons, like they are waiting t be colored or something. Again after using this a few times I probably won't notice the difference anymore. But at first look not the biggest fan. Now I like some of the icon changes in terms of representation. The global for browser, the new concept mapping icon has more meaning.

An error occurred while saving the comment Mike McGowan commentedI like having access to more pens. It really gives them life outside of Notebook and sometimes those pens come in handy. Many times I would just use transparent background to achieve what I was trying to do but this gives me more control.

An error occurred while saving the comment Mike McGowan commentedThis one I will leave to the handful of calls I have had with the PM team. There is just too much. It is a good start don't get me wrong. But this feature has a long road ahead and I see it going the right way in the long run.

An error occurred while saving the comment Mike McGowan commentedLoving these as well. Need to think a little more on the whys of the clock relating to how I would use that in the classroom. But the rest are good.
The only one that I say is missing something and I have a request for is the spinner. The spinner needs to be able to handle more segments. I need to be able to type in all the kids in a class. Which then leads to a feature request, a list importer. But more segments is more important. I need a replacement for the random word chooser with the idea flash is going away.

An error occurred while saving the comment Mike McGowan commentedAgain a much needed feature. If you want to work on one icon thou this would be one of them. It just doesn't seem to "belong" in the group in the add-ons tab. But if that is anyone's biggest complaint that is minimal. With the move to get further way from the gallery and such this is a big step forward.

An error occurred while saving the comment Mike McGowan commentedThis has been long coming and much needed. When this was added to 15.2 I was very excited. One of the best features that could have ever been added.

An error occurred while saving the comment Mike McGowan commentedInteresting new idea. Kind of like it. I think will really work with the youngest of students. Will not play well with the older grades. Teachers at that grade own't use these new themes but that is okay. But some work on finding some more age appropriate themes for say grades 5 and up would be a big step forward.

An error occurred while saving the comment Mike McGowan commentedI think the icon change is going to confuse people off the bat. Not sure what the reason behind the icon change was. Its not horrible by any stretch but just out of all the things that could change or features that still need to be added this seems unnecessary.

An error occurred while saving the comment Mike McGowan commentedFinally finished installing. This is probably the longest install I have had with Notebook. Even after the downloading it still took a good 30 minutes on a newer PC to install.
An error occurred while saving the comment Mike McGowan commentedWhy is it that I had to download an 885MB installer to have it download an additional 540MB during install? I could see that with a web installer but not a full installer.
The main installer downloaded very fast but the download during the install was very slow.
Saw this in the what's new file. I assume this is one of the future parts of 16.2?
