Ignore/Lock input - but continue displaying content.
An ability to block/ignore touch input - so that students can not change what is being displayed.
Perhaps require the teacher to touch a pattern (top corners?) on the screen - or a long/double-press or a combo of buttons on the remote to (de)activate the feature.
This is being planned for the next generation of SMART displays.

This is a highly requested feature for Special Education populations.

Schools with early childhood education and special needs classrooms request the ability to disable touch interaction while using iQ. They do want to be able to show a video, so the freeze option does not quite fit the need. They also would like the option to temporarily hide the menu on the bottom of the screen while using iQ 4.
