Strongly agree - the passcode entry is displayed far too large and it's almost impossible to prevent students from viewing the code as it's entered, which makes it functionally useless.
I did just check, and the lock display does read keyboard input from a keyboard plugged into a USB port, so you may be able to jerry rig something, but a USB number keypad should work.. they're cheap so could be worth testing.
