Work has begun on developing this feature. It is scheduled to be included in our summer iQ4 release.
To manage expectations, this first Lines/Arrows release will not include connectors on shapes, but that is forthcoming. We just need more time to build that functionality.

Is this compatible with MX2 boards? They can’t be abandoned.. we have 10 of them and they’re only 3-4 years old.

The iQ4 update released today (December 11, 2024) includes a shape tool and text creator tool. We will be adding lines/arrows in the new year. We will also be updating shapes and text to include more formatting options.
If your school is not yet using iQ4, talk to your IT Admin on what possibilities are available to upgrade.

Hey guys, nearly a year on and there’s no sign of a basic line drawing / 2D shape drawing tool for v3 software. It’s a really simple add on as the code already exists for the notebook software. A simple lite version of that would do fine and does not need extra processor power or new hardware add ons to the mx2 board. Can this please be expedited? I’m not spending thousands on hardware so that we can draw 2D shapes and arrows easily.

Hi Joe, Thanks for your help. I have an MX v2. Can that take the IQ 4 release?

Thanks Joe. Our boards are 2 years old. I tend to look after the basics myself for the school (I’m a primary teacher). Can I just go to the settings and tap to update the software there and update the boards over the air or do I need to get a bin file from the supplier and use a USB stick?

Undo and clean are both often requested features. This is coming in an upcoming iQ release.

This is such a simple addition to the v3 software and it needs to happen. Our boards were only bought a few years ago and seem to be obsolete already?? We can’t run v4 on our MX2. A simple set of drawing tools is essential for v3. We’ve been asking for this for 2 years. You can’t write off hardware that’s so young by designing software it can’t handle.
