    You can sort of do that already. You can customize all of the 6 specific text types, and all of the 8 pen colors and shapes.
    Click on the item you want to modify, then click on the properties menu. Set it to whatever color or thickness you want, then at the bottom there will be a check box for "save tool properties" It won't work if that exact property is already in use. Anything novel will become a default. When I figured this out it was an awakening.
