Allow audio to be heard when screen is frozen or shaded
It is essential that I can play audio while the screen is paused or shaded. This was possible on earlier versions but no longer works on MX (v2). This is a MAJOR FLAW! I used this frequently to do listening activities in Spanish classes which is a big part of the course. I also enjoyed being able to play soft music in the background while students had work time. Please fix this!

Save User Icon and Username
While security is key, in classrooms where teachers move between classrooms, the full username/email and password sign in every time a user switches to a new hour detracts from time spent preparing for class.
An easy solution is to hold the persons username/email in a queue on the left side of the board (similar to what Chrome does with multiple users) and then have teachers JUST type the password. This provides a nice balance of security and ease-of-use.
Watching teachers log in several times a day in front of high school students is painful. This might be a quick solution…

Changing the SMART Board pen default settings with SMART product drivers
Why is there no option to change the SMART Board pen default settings with SMART product drivers (like in the previous SPNL-6000 series)? So you can't set a default ink thickness for the pens which is highly missed. Every time people are using the pens on a SBID-6000S they have to adjust the ink thickness again and again. This is very confusing and inconvenient for the customers who are preferring a thinner ink as a default. Also it would be a good idea to be able to set the calligraphic ink as a default, too. IP based control or upgrade on RS232
It would be nice to be able to send many commands via RS232 at once and that the product can support that. Example: sending a volume up command consistently by +1 though a room controller.
Alternatively, it would be nice to have a way to control your SMART products with room control hardware using IP based controls.

MX HDMI 1.4b and HDMI 2.0
Problem with MX V3 and V3N HDMI controller settings.
V2 and V2-C had an option for advanced HDMI settings where a customer could set HDMI standard (1.4b or 2.0), HPD impulse, MHL settings and quick USB switching.We noticed that in some regions a lot of schools had received computers from tenders such as HP ProBook 450 G8 and a few others that do not work with HDMI 2.0 standards.
Since the interactive display does not allow changing that setting, the computer does not work with the display no matter the cable that the customer uses.

Board login
Need to have a way to login to the board with Google account that does not require entering username and password on the screen. Also need a way to enter the screen lock PIN without having to do it on the board.
Not practical or secure to do this in front of a class full of students!
Best solution would be through app that connects to board that teacher can login with so it is not seen on board.7 votesunder review ·

Alternative login solutions are being considered for future iterations of iQ. Our latest panels also come with NFC for login, however, this likely will not help if your board currently is not equipped with an NFC reader.

Dice rolling in whiteboard app
I know this is minor, but please speed up the time it takes to roll the dice in the Whiteboard app. It is so long right now it kind of makes it unusable. (Or even better, make it a setting.)

Disable Buttons MX V2
Would like a way to disable the front buttons on the MX V2. Similiar to how it works somewhat with the older 6000 series displays. Where the touch buttons can be deactivated.

Bluetooth-support
I wasn't able to find a forum for our boards, so I'll just add my feedback here.
We have 7 MX265-series- and 4 SPNL-6265-Boards, and still increasing.In our school, a school for children with hearing disabilities, the demand for Bluetooth-speakers is increasing.
Our teachers would like to be able to connect small, portable Bluetooth-speakers directly to the Smart Board. The students can hold the loudspeaker close to their ears and listen to music, TV, etc.
This feature seems to be missing. Will you include it in a future SW-release?

Change default pen thickness and colour for Notebook software. Apparently this is no longer a feature. It would be so cool not to have to change the pen's thickness in particular every time I write on the board.

Smart ID Card Setup
The school has 50 to 70 teachers, ranging from pre-school to high school. It is challenging for them to set up the Smart ID cards individually in front of the panel. This is not efficiency & security for the school.
Is there a possibility for Smart ID card setup via cloud-based platforms, web pages, Smart Remote management, or other means?
And can the ID/Password be configured in bulk using a CSV file to synchronize with the Smart ID cards, under the administration of the school's IT staff.4 votes -
Remove ability to do FActory Reset to avoid security.
We currently work in a lockdown facility, and wish to limit the students ability to change configurations on the smartboard. As such, we've implemented the lockdown of security settings with a USB certificate.
However, Students can easily do a factory reset on the board through settings-diagnositics.
The ability to reset the board to factory default status completely makes the security lock irrelevant. I understand the need to do a reset should the certificate become lost - or the USB ports become inoperable.
However, perhaps a series of key commands could server this purpose rather than an easily discovered diagnostic command?4 votes -
Adjust time required to freeze board
Could you add the ability to adjust the time it takes to freeze the board by holding down the menu button on the GX series? Currently you have to hold it for 5 seconds and there no way to change this, it's a surprisingly long time when stood in front of a class and just generally quite annoying.

Let the MX275-V2 run the SmartMirror app for screen projectio
We are a campus of 24 plus SMARTTechnologies SBID-MX275-V2. The last order arrive and were the SMARTTechnologies SBID-MX275-V3.
PROBLEM: the V3 runs Smartmirror NOT SmartScreen.
PLEASE PLEASE get SmartMirror to run on the V2This is a massive training issue if the V2 and V3 run two different Window screen sharing software...
I'm really questioning if we should have stuck with SmartTech - I know that the next time we are doing a campus upgrade.. other devices will be considered

another customer request to be able to select iQ applications via RS232 or IP control. Currently we are only able to switch input. Customers would like to trigger whiteboard, screen sharing etc.. via room control command

Need extension to calibrate/align boards using chrome os
I'm IT admin and our school is go towards all chrome os. We need an extension to calibrate our boards using chrome OS. Promethian has this, here's the link..

Make Smart Board boot directly into AM60-module and make it possible to use the SmartBoard buttons with the module
The AM60 IQ Compliance Module is considered an enhancement by SMART, but I find it very annoying that our MX-board need to boot in to the on-board PC, instead of just booting into the AM60 Module.
WHen I insert an AM60 Module, the onboard PC should be downgraded to a bridge and just allow the module to function as the primary system device.
At the same time, it is not possible to use the Smart Board's physical buttons with the module. They should be bound to the module when activated.
That would enhance the experience and make the AM60 module…
3 votesThanks for the idea. Our engineering teams have started on implemented this to make the AM60 an integrated module when connected to the display. We're expecting to deliver this in an upcoming iQ firmware update.
